Screw the Saudis and the alliance they want to protect them from Iran. Let them stand on their own.
That might be so, but most will fight an invading foreign army. Iran has 87 MILLION people and is 637,000 square miles. Iran is huge in population and territory compared to Iraq and Afghanistan.

I am not sure that "what it takes" is achievable, by Israel or any other power.
Israel's situation is like Ukraine (and Taiwan) in that achieving their desired end state (peaceful neighbors or at least the ability to protect their women and children in perpetuity) relies on exterior forces intervening - NATO, in the case of Ukraine, the 7th Fleet in the case of Taiwan, and the "international community commanding a rules based order" (i.e., the US military) in the case of Israel.
All these exterior forces are to one degree or another unavailable (NATO), not up to the task (7th Fleet), or imaginary (an "international community").
I really don't see how Israel is going to get out of the strategic box they are in. Tactically, they remain superb. But strategically, they are in a very bad spot.
Essentially the same as shipping them to the US.
We were attacked on 9/11 by the irregular forces of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. We foolishly adopted the idiotic "terrorist" nomenclature for the enemy soldiers, and for reasons which remain to be understood attacked Iraq and Syria instead.
And carpet bomb, only using MOABs.

What a different world it would be if we said to Saddam, "Bravo, brother! Let's meet up in Riyadh and decide how things are going to go in the future".
Would have kept the Iranians in check, that’s for sure.
We can only hope Israelis and Americans will learn their lesson concerning appeasing those that hate them.
I lived in the ME for years and found that the people to be very straight forward and easy to predict. If you were firm and did as you said you would do, life was good. But if you tried to appease the locals, they saw this is a weakness and made life difficult most of the time. No different with Liberals and RINOS in America.
The problem I have found is, as Americans and Conservatives, we believe people learn from their mistakes, but Liberals can’t or won’t ever admit their mistakes.
It was about going after Iran after 9/11 IMHO and now today much talk from the Neocons about Iran in connection with this horrific attack.
Endgame is Saudi-Israeli deal with Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria the Jewish land commonly called ‘the West Bank”.
Iran is eliminated as the Shia Islam competitor to Sunni Islam in Saudi Arabia.

Basic Intelligence 101- If a group tries to kill you, tells you they want to kill you and purchases the means to kill you, they are planning to kill you.
Basic Liberal Intelligence 101- If someone tries to kill you and they are non-white, non-Christian, they are just joking around. If a group tells you they hate you and often harm you and they are non-white and non-Christian, they are just pretending to hate you. Finally, if this same group purchases the means to kill you, it’s really white people that are Christians that are doing this and are blaming others.
