You:
"Most Israelis love Trump." I accept that as truth.
Me: "Many in Israel were so happy when Trump lost."
This a true statement also.

Why are there buildings still standing in Gaza?

By killing hundreds of Israelis, kidnapping hundreds, and taking them to Gaza, Hamas has made an IDF invasion inevitable. The IDF needs to consider that invasion carefully. If Hamas was able to complete the logistical work to get this many weapons, and men, on the border, without detection, could it also have created something to, if not defeat, at least cause inordinate casualties to the IDF?
I don't mean just prepared fighting positions, and IEDs, but, I dunno, nerve gas dispensers upwind of likely IDF routes, or something equally out of the box.
Unlikely, but so is this surprise attack. If Hamas wanted IDF ground forces to come pouring in, it could not have done anything more likely to make that happen. I'm not saying the IDF shouldn't go in, and go in within the next 24 hours, but it should keep in mind that Hamas may have a very nonconventional reception planned.

“I blame the Mossad for letting this happen, they are supposed to be the best at Intelligence”
Probably infiltrated by leftist Israel haters, sound familiar?

I agree with your caution. If the Israelis were caught flat footed, and they rush an attack, could there be other nasty surprises waiting? If their intelligence failed them before the attacks, might it not also fail them once they begin to retaliate?

In other words, the IDF’s got make sure it doesn’t play the role of Sonny Corleone, at the toll both on the Jones Beach Causeway.
