You think Trump should have shutdown the government when Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and Nancy Pelosi sent him big CR's, but you are not for Matt Gaetz working to climate big CRs?"
Not really sure what you're trying to say here about the climate, but I think I'm on solid ground stating that Donald Trump had the constitutional means to reject these massive spending bills.
After all, from 2016-2020 over 7 trillion dollars was added to the debt.
Can you tell me what steps were taken by the Trump Administration to try to curb spending?
Since we've all become purists on the subject now, it seems important that we judge everyone on how they exercise the full range of their constitutional authority in achieving fiscal discipline.
I bet when the cameras are off and the doors are closed. Omar loses the muzzie garb and goes to town.
My contention with you is not about what Trump did to stop big spending CR's from Paul Ryan, Nancy Pelosi, and Mitch McConnell.
I'm simply asking you if you are in full support of what Matt Gaetz is doing to reject the same, these massive spending CR's and omnibus bills.
Re: 132 - Gaetz is a big government spender. Just like almost all House Members. Was a co-sponser for H.R.748 (CARES Act). And on and on.
“Best laid plans do not always succeed. Sometimes you wing it and pray.”
I’m a risk manager. “Winging it” isn’t in my lexicon. I make sure every variable is analyzed, graded and mitigated. Don’t get me wrong here. Sometimes we have to do things which go against the very thing we practice, but in this case, with 33 trillion in debt and a two trillion annual debt, I really would like to see a plan.
But, and this is a big but, if this prevents government from spending our money recklessly or making more decisions which will harm us, I would rather do nothing than something which knowing the Republicans probably would benefit the Democrats.
What do you make of McCarthy's comment that Pelosi convinced him to accept the motion to vacate rule because she promised him "I’ll always back you up."
Wasn't it actually McCarthy who collaborated with Pelosi to keep his position, that Pelosi encouraged McCarthy to hold the vote because she had his back, and then she reneged and sided with Gaetz when it came time to vote?

Re: 164 - Gaetz has supported several “massive spending CR’s and omnibus bills”.
Craig Livingstone, whom we later found out was hired by Vince Foster.

Gaetz's governor, Ron DeSantis, (remember him) locked down the state of Florida which effected businesses and caused people to be unemployed. Most of the CARES act dealt with that government destruction of private employment and business.
You're aware of that, right?
I do remember Thomas Massie doing so, however. He actually voted against the 2.2 trillion budget buster known as the CATRES ACT
I make of it that it was actually Gaetz who ended up collaborating with Pelosi.
Easy to throw indiscriminate mud. Each of those allegations needs to be examined in terms of what other spending was jeopardized in each case and what was accomplished at the cost of that level of unnecessary spending. You are good at scatter shooting but not much on details.
Republicans should be cleaning up in these races. Moderates and Independents are increasingly becoming convinced that the GOP as it is currently constituted is not a serious governing party and is held hostage by kooks and grifters.
I ask because it seems that it was actually McCarthy who, by his own admission, spoke with Pelosi at the beginning during negotiations for his speakership and behaved in some ways based on her words of support for him.
I'm not aware of any Democrat words of support for Gaetz, or of any meetings that Democrats have said they had with Gaetz. Do you know of any?

That sounds like something Kevin McCarthy would say!
No that is what an honest and logical person would say. It is your posting which is constituted of weasel words designed to waste my time laying out facts and circumstances you should have reviewed before spewing accusations.
Gaetz was glad to accept unanimous Democrat support and reject the will of 218 Republicans to oust a GOP speaker.
And I know everybody is having their ""yeasss qween!" moment with Matt Gaetz, but in the real world it ain't about clicks and giggles.
Real-life Republicans and GOP-leaning independents are repulsed by Matt Gaetz.
Because he is repulsive
opinions like your and others on fr assures the continued loss of credibility for the gop and reinforces the moniker: the stupid party.
You’re overstating the effect on Florida.
It was free money.
And it doesn’t diminish that Gaetz voted Aye on several CRs and Omnibus bills.
