Yes, Tyson is surrealistically nonsensical. If one were to take him seriously, the only way to "level the playing field" would be to put every athlete all by himself in a class of cone, and then award everyone first place.
Which is actually just about what the libs are doing anyhow with their participation trophy approach in youth sports.
But of course, not even Tyson would pursue his "logic" to its conclusion. He is drunk on trans and wants to rewrite the rules for every sporting competition to make sure that trans folk can compete wherever they want to ... which means then further rewriting the rules so that every woman can have a level playing field as well ... which takes us straight to everyone in a class of one and participation trophies all around.
I feel he has not really found his true identity. He tries to channel Feynman with eccentricities, then he tries to mimic Sagan with his Cosmos remake, etc. Never quite found his footing until Hollywood called and it just seems ingenious. I mean the whole "contrarian" thing seems like an act, just overly dramatic.
He's not even in the big leagues with Kaku, Penrose, etc.
