Ironic that Cheeseburger in Paradise died in Lahaina less than a month ago.
The son of a son of a sailor has finally put in to port, wherever that may be.
20+ years ago he owned an Albatross airplane. I used to see him fly it up and down the coast of Palm Beach. It was very, very cool. There is a story that he was with either Sting or Bono flying in the Caribbean/Jamacia, and they got shot-up by the local islanders!
Jimmy Buffet and Allan Jackson doing “Must be 5 o’clock Somewhere” That’s my favorite. Most of his tubes were just silly drinking tunes and getting high on marijuana. It did Jimmy good. My guess >> He died worth at least 400 million dollars.
BUT!!!!!!>>>>>
However, according to Forbes magazine, as of August 28, 2023, Jimmy Buffett had a real-time net worth of $1 billion 3. His net worth was primarily derived from his music catalog, touring and recording, and his stake in Margaritaville Holdings 3. Margaritaville Holdings is a lifestyle brand that includes resorts, restaurants, housing, apparel, home decor, pool floats, pickleball sets as well as tequila and margarita mix 3. Buffett founded Margaritaville in 1985 and holds a 28% stake worth an estimated $180 million 3.

Have sailboat, play buffett.
I wonder how that cheeseburger tastes?
Jimmy Buffett’s career, for me, is best captured in his song, “Six String Music”. As the lyrics go, “A simple song, sung from me to you.”
I played it a moment ago, before writing this tribute, and it brings tears to my eyes, at the passing of such a genuine man.
When I lived in Key West, 1986 - 1987, he hosted an annual workshop for aspiring musicians and song writers. At no charge.
Even if you never bought his records or cared much about him, SO MANY people blasted his music at so many parties that the mere sound of his voice or his music brings back those early twenties sharply into focus.
RIP Jimmy!
The ELVIS of my generation.
I hope Mac & Micheal and the rest of the Coral Reefer band keep Jimmy’s & their legacy going strong!!!
The man could write a song with a hook and make a billion dollars.
Tonight, I will have to head down to a local Tex-Mex joint a drink a rita or two.
Learning a lot about Jimmy Buffett today.
His music was described as “Gulf & Western,” a pun on a once well-known corporation name.
RIP
RIP Jimmy Buffett, thanks for the music.
... Changes in latitude ...
RIP.
