I also found the filing from America’s Mayer extremely confusing. He said he doesn’t contest that his statements were defamatory. Since he knows his statements were Truth, I hope he’s not being bled dry and just giving up.

Opinion can be as long or full of crap as the judge likes

But if you are ordered to turn over information and refuse to do so, you are going to get a summary judgement against you, because you have basically failed to follow the rules, and since you aren’t the opposing side will file for a summary judgment and they will almost certainly get it.

Wouldn’t matter who appointed the judge.

This is a civil case not directly tied to Giuliani’s criminal issues. There’s no mechanism that the two could easily be linked if that was the goal.

Why is this even in a DC court? Shouldn't this be in a Georgia court? Was the offense committed in DC? I don't think so!

Ruby Freeman claimed that Rudy was in DC for some of the time he defamed her, so yes the acts were committed in DC per her complaint. She also said he was a DC-barred lawyer and his client (Trump) lived in DC, and since Giuliani defaulted on the case the window for objecting to venue has probably expired. The reason this is in federal, not state, court is because giuliani and freeman live in different states.

No, it’s calling a spade a spade. Rudy has ignored the court. Not just couldn’t/wouldn’t produce the evidence requested but flat out ignored the court. Now, this may upset some people’s feel feels it this is exactly what hat happened. As a result, summary judgement. It’s as plain and as easy as that. You ignore the court, you receive summary judgement. Period, end of story.

I understand perfectly well how our corrupt kangaroo courts work.

That's a dodge. It should be thrown out for judge shopping alone.

She also said he was a DC-barred lawyer and his client (Trump) lived in DC,

Has not a damn thing to do with her.

The reason this is in federal, not state, court is because giuliani and freeman live in different states.

So could Judge Roy Moore use this same dodge to sue Gloria Allred for her smears of him?

That's also a dodge.

Just further proof that our legal system is garbage because it is unconcerned with justice.

I can see a contempt order, I can see a fine, but deciding a verdict on this basis? Crap thinking, crap justice.

Courts are arrogant, and these arrogant bastards running them need to face a very angry mob of people set on giving them pain.

Our courts are the remnant of Monarchical law. They run like an imperial monarchy, and are ill suited to a Republic of equal men.

Judge wears a Robe, sits on a throne, waves a scepter, and demands supplicants come beg and "plead" before him.

Way past time we made courts American instead of English.

Sorry, but I disagree... this is a civil, not a criminal matter. There is evidence that you have relavant to the case, and processes to be followed, if you willfully choose not to provide the information as ordered you are going to get a summary judgement against you.

Again this is NOT a criminal case, this is a civil case. The plaintiffs have sued for damages, this is not the DA charging anyone with a crime. Why should a judge waste taxpayer time and money to imprison someone for contempt over a non criminal matter? They could of course throw you in jail for contempt if they wanted, but how does that provide any justice?

The plaintiff is suing you for damages, not the state trying to put you in jail for a crime... so if you refuse to cooperate with the court, you are almost certainly going to just lose the case and the plaintiff will get what they sued for.

This would be the end game regardless of who the judge was appointed by... you fail to follow the rules in a civil case, or refuse to show up for your trial date, expect a summary judgement against you, that will almost certainly grant everythin the plaintiff has asked for.

“Exactly what were the ‘requested documents’?”

According to Giuliani, the electronic documents were in the possession of the FBI and the judge knew it.

Rudy turned over everything he could, including 20 year old documents having nothing to do with Georgia.

Is this an old tactic or did it originate with the persecution of Alex Jones?
