Our HOA community was “owner residents only” for years until the Obama recession, at which point people couldn’t sell their houses in a timely way; so the by-laws were changed to permit renting out the houses. In rushed the Democrat county government and shoved multicultural Sec8s into the rentals dotted around.
Owners continue to pay ever-escalating dues as the infrastructure ages; the Sec8s get paid by the government to throw trash around, play loud music, conduct illegal businesses in their houses, have a stream of strangers in and out, loud parties on the decks, have the police show up over whatever their teenagers did at school today, etc etc. Our dues are now 600% of what they were 15 years ago.
