Anyone with a problem with Trump shouldn't be allowed here.

He's going to be the nominee. Either get on the Trump train or get on the tracks and get run over.

Trump or communism in 2024.

No, you’re numbers aren’t growing, unless you’re reproducing asexually.

Trump's explanation for the cancellation:

“Rather than releasing the Report on the Rigged & Stolen Georgia 2020 Presidential Election on Monday, my lawyers would prefer putting this, I believe, Irrefutable & Overwhelming evidence of Election Fraud & Irregularities in formal Legal Filings as we fight to dismiss this disgraceful Indictment by a publicity & campaign finance seeking D.A., who sadly presides over a record breaking Murder & Violent Crime area, Atlanta,” Trump wrote on social media. “Therefore, the News Conference is no longer necessary!”

“ATLANTA — VoterGA revealed serious anomalies in the recent 2022 Georgia General Election. A sworn affidavit corroborated by the Edison media line feed show that over 20,000 votes were inexplicably subtracted from the vote totals of U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker.”

Maybe Trump’s request was reasonable after all.

“VoterGA announced a new complaint against several counties for unlawful destruction of original ballot images from the November 2020 General Election. It seeks to preserve 2020 election ballots as the only remedy for the image destruction. Over 1.7 million images were destroyed by up to 70 counties. Most counties admitted images were overwritten while some refused to comply with VoterGA Open Records Requests that revealed the destruction.”

That is not stipulated in the charter of Free Republic.

EVERY election season since 2000 when FreeRepublic started, we had spirited arguments and discussions in the primaries, that is what free speech and discourse is all about, not censorship. Some liked Giuliani, Kemp, Bush, Trump, Keyes, Huckabee, Kasich, Rubio, Buchanan, Tancredo, Cruz, Cain, Walsh, Romney, Paul, Fiorina, Scott, etc etc etc.
And 2024 is and should be no different.

“His lawyers told him to hold it for the trial, you ass.”

Of course, because as a lawyer you know you can only use evidence once, and if he were to use it now, it would be inadmissible in court.

Absolutely. Would you expect less?

We must restore Ronald Reagan Conservatism to the movement and smash the libs, not get Sleepy Joe another victory.

I am enjoying every minute of this latest Trump Blink Backdown (lawyers must be having fits, they’ll rest OK for now until the next eruption) and now it seems like the expected chickening out of the GOP 2024 DEBATES with the other candidates altogether.

“2022 Georgia Code
Title 16 - Crimes and Offenses
Chapter 14 - Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations
§ 16-14-2. Findings and Intent of General Assembly

Universal Citation: GA Code § 16-14-2 (2022)

1. The General Assembly finds that a severe problem is posed in this state by the increasing sophistication of various criminal elements and the increasing extent to which the state and its citizens are harmed as a result of the activities of these elements.

2. The General Assembly declares that the intent of this chapter is to impose sanctions against those who violate this chapter and to provide compensation to persons injured or aggrieved by such violations. It is not the intent of the General Assembly that isolated incidents of misdemeanor conduct or acts of civil disobedience be prosecuted under this chapter. It is the intent of the General Assembly, however, that this chapter apply to an interrelated pattern of criminal activity motivated by or the effect of which is pecuniary gain or economic or physical threat or injury. This chapter shall be liberally construed to effectuate the remedial purposes embodied in its operative provisions.”

https://law.justia.com/codes/georgia/2022/title-16/chapter-14/section-16-14-2/

I’ll repeat:

“It is the intent of the General Assembly, however, that this chapter apply to an interrelated pattern of criminal activity motivated by or the effect of which is pecuniary gain or economic or physical threat or injury.”

Should it be otherwise? Is FR worth sticking with if it isn’t?

Good luck with your Loser Party. I get that this is a site for political nerds, but anyone who thinks conventional political activity is going to “restore” anything worthwhile is a window-licking moron.

>>”It’s actually pretty incredible that people still take him seriously”

Actually, it’s incredible that you believe this discredits him. He got a little ahead of his ski’s on this one issue. Big deal. His legal team thinks it’s smarter to wait and include the info. as part of their court filing.

I’m going to take a wild guess that you don’t think DeSantis’s disastrous campaign announcement on Twitter ruined his credibility. But this ruins Trump’s credibility - outweighing three originalist Supreme Court appointees, no new foreign wars, tax cuts, a strong economy, border wall, etc.

“This is an election contest,” lead Gore attorney David Boies said in his opening statement. “We have alleged that the certified results reject a number of legal votes and include a number of illegal votes.”

“The Gore campaign is seeking a hand count of 14,000 ‘undervote’ ballots — those that failed to register a vote for president in previous machine counts — from two heavily Democratic counties, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade.”

“I do not believe … that there is any basis whatsoever to have a pick-and-choose manual recount in the state of Florida in a statewide race”

“A special joint committee voted Thursday to recommend to the Legislature’s leadership that a special session be called to consider appointing a slate of presidential electors — most likely a slate that would be pledged to vote for Bush, given the GOP’s majorities in the state House and Senate.”

Of course, in April '07, all the Giuliani supporters were zotted, and many others left, pissed at what happened.

This place has never been the same since.

A lot of good FReepers were shown the door, or showed themselves the door.

I come here for the news. I learned everything I needed to know about GA GOP politics 30+ years ago.

But hey, I'm rooting for y'all, in the same way I'd root for the Falcons if I got free tickets.
