What are you talking about?

This is substantive action. If this happens, it would be a big step forward. It sounds like a good idea.

Well, tell us what you think they should do. It’s easy to say someone’s idea is a bad idea. Tell us your good idea.

Yup. This is as useful as all the previous R votes to overturn obamacare before Trump.

#performative

Ogles introduced the bill on Friday, the Washington Examiner reported. GOP Reps. Alex Mooney, W.V., and Eli Crane, Ariz., cosponsored the measure.

How come leader McCarthy was not one of the cosponsors?

Speak now or forever hold your peace.

They had their chance, but they passed the budget. Their next chance is in September. But I don’t expect them to hold the line.

Yet some here are holding out hope, just like they did when Ryan was in Congress introducing stuff

I worked in government for decades. Doubtful if they can defund Smith’s salary specifically. Even if that were to happen, there’d be Budget Transfer paperwork shuffled at DOJ, FBI, White House, etc., in a skinny minute.

Defund the DOJ and FBI? Now we’re talking. I might be impressed.

Yep, that's exactly right. They caved. Now it's too late, but I guess it's good press.

ObamaCare is now a “Third Rail”, just like Social Security.

Along the lines of what Vivek said yesterday, the democrats are using unprecedented, shady, questionable and downright illegal actions against Trump and in essence republican voters.

It is time for the GOP officials across the country to adjust and go after rat pols and their pet interests. Business as usual will not work anymore. It is time for the GOP to re-think how they deal with the rats.

The GOP elected officials are going on as usual hoping they wake up and this dream will end. The democrats are not playing by the same rules anymore. It is time to change the playbook.

How many third rails are there? Abortion, School reform, election reform. Now even contesting an election is illegal.

Indeed, only difference is that it will take only one term for the do-nothing worthless GOPe congress to get booted rather than two terms. The only thing they excel at is raising the debt ceiling as it will be $40 TRILLION before the decade is out. It seems likely total collapse of this country is only a few years away anyway. I’m fine with a third party, however we need a second party first as we haven’t one for a few decades.

Good point. They act like we forgot about that. They gave everything to the democrat agencies. How many of them voted to pass that budget?!

We basically have a one party system with the GOP doing nothing. It sets the stage for catastrophic failure, like in Hawaii.

Probably already stated here, but defunding his position only provides him the opportunity to appear magnanimous in the media...he'll do the job for nothing.

Compensation...compliments of major Dem donor.

Is this action what Constitution says about the House provides the funds for gov’t?

I think it was Newt who said last nite that House should act to take away particular gov’t funding.

Even it House accomplished the defund of salary, rich individuals would pay him. Or another branch of gov’t would pay him.

Regardless House should immediately defund the DOJ and FBI. PERIOD.

I can only dream.

“How about pass a budget for a change? No more CR nonsense.

It would appear that a ‘movement’ to bring a budget that would eliminate much of this nonsense on a state level or even a county level before we lose total control of the country. One can only hope that many of these rogue DAs’ and prosecutors would be put in the unemployment line.
