If somebody doesn't like it, they can use alternative services. Almost every NATO country has communications satellites that will work for Ukrainian military uses.
How dare Elon want to avoid World War 3. HOW DARE HE.
The transsexual Ukraine supporters are gonna be dilating really hard upon hearing this!
So, as an American and an American company, he had no business getting involved in the Russian and Ukraine civil war. Nor did the US. Time to cut Ukraine off and call for immediate ceasefire.
Complaints if true, suggest Elon doesn’t want Ukraine to attack Crimea.
Good for Musk for not helping fake countries.
David Frum and the New York Times?
More propaganda.
Musk does not want his system to be used for offensive military operations. By anyone.
Not just operations that are attacks on Crimea.
He made Starlink available to hold up civil systems if Russia should take down their IT. He has soured on the war over time.
Musk didn’t like the thought of uncontrolled descent from an open window of maybe one of his own company’s buildings.
He doesn’t want Russia to target his satellites.
He becomes a player when he lets it be used for military reasons.
He previously gave access to them for free.
How much should Elon be forced to lose, for Mr. GlobalHomo?
Probably true. My impression when he made Starlink available back then, was more for humanitarian reasons.
I wonder if someone leaned on him back then to give them Starlink?
“My impression when he made Starlink available back then, was more for humanitarian reasons.”
It’s the backbone of Ukraine’s tactical and strategic military communications.
If he shuts it off, he shuts them off.
They’re justifiably terrified.
Attacking Crimea is defensive. Russia invaded it in 2014, but it is legally Ukrainian.
Not according to Elon.
I guess Ukraine ought to find another carrier, one that sees the world as they do.
As a naturalized American with an American owned strategic asset, Musk should consider the potential consequences of defying US government policy and the very real potential risk of having his asset seized by the Department of Defense.
I wish he hadn’t offered it to begin with.
Musk’s personal opinions are interesting but not ultimately the only thing that matters here.
Just like everything else in Ukraine - it can’t and never will stand on it’s own without all the other outside Governments and Organizations propping it up.....over and over again.
