The farmers in Holland created their own new political party, because the established parties did not represent them.
Could this happen in the US?
While we have had two major parties for almost all of American history, the two major parties have not always been today’s Democrat and Republican parties.
Could the GOP go the way of the Whig Party at some point? How would we go about starting a new political party which represents conservative values better than today’s Republicans?
Is it even worth doing, considering that trying to do so, would mean Democrats would win elections by default, until such time as a new conservative party was up and running and well established? Is it better to just keep working to push conservative values within the Republican party?
Deep State wouldn’t have to steal elections, would it?
Very good point.
Doomed to peace and prosperity....for a change. How horrible!
“Is it better to just keep working to push conservative values within the Republican party?”
I’m not sure, but there are some institutional advantages to GOP capture rather than starting a 3rd party.
The US primary systems means that if you win the primary, you get the party nomination, regardless of what party elites want.
In countries like Canada, Party leadership and even non-elected Party officials, can veto candidates. For example, “Conservative” Party leader O’toole ejected several MPs from the party because they refused to get vaccinated, and refused to support vaccine mandates.
And then there is this:

“The farmers in Holland created their own new political party, because the established parties did not represent them.”
There is another point about this. Holland has a proportional representation system with all sorts of political parties purportedly representing all sorts of interests.
But when people wanted to oppose having farms shut down, and turned into immigrant housing, they had to start their own party because the political class that controlled the other parties were all in favor of that agenda.
And this raises another point - the role of the political parties (like the GOP) as a containment or gatekeeping device to prevent any effective opposition to the Regime.
They channel all Regime opposition into the GOP, who just have fake hearing and outrage, send fundraising letters, and never do anything.
