Harvard Poll: Donald Trump Leads Biden by 6, Towers over Primary Field After Indictment

Premise Polling: In a 2024 General Election matchup, Trump leads Biden by 44%-43%. However, if by the unlikely chance that Ron DeSantis is the GOP nominee, Biden wins reelection by defeating DeSantis by a margin of 41%-36%. If Trump beats Biden in the popular vote, Trump will win the Electoral College by one of the biggest margins in American history.

Morning Consult: The survey also found Trump tied with President Joe Biden in a head-to-head matchup with 42 percent each. DeSantis, however, trails Biden by four points

Trump is favored over Biden in a head-to-head, 47 percent to 44 percent, whereas DeSantis trails Biden head-to-head, 44 percent to 46 percent

LX News/YouGov poll: Most Republicans, 59 percent, believe Trump has the best chance of winning the presidential election, followed by 27 percent who believe DeSantis has the best chance and 13 percent who remain unsure.

A plurality of independents, 34 percent, also believe Trump has the best chance, while 23 percent said DeSantis. A plurality of independents, 43 percent, remain unsure.

Notably, over-one third of Democrats, 35 percent, believe DeSantis has a better chance than Trump, compared to 27 percent who believe Trump has the better chance. Thirty eight percent remain unsure.

Among all respondents, Trump has the edge, as 39 percent said he has the best chance to win, while 28 percent said the same of the Florida governor. Thirty-three percent remain unsure.

Emerson College Poll: In a hypothetical head-to-head between Trump and Biden, Trump leads with 49 percent to 38 percent among Iowa voters. DeSantis beats Biden in the matchup, 45 percent to 38 percent.
