Following in the path of the Distapalians and other extinct species.
I’ve recently began attending a small SBC church. I wish I would have given them the change a long, long time ago. It’s been a long and winding road. These people know Truth. Praise God.
Women can have all sorts of roles in the church. They simply cannot be the Pastors of a church. We all have our roles.
Thanks for pointing that out!
I do not claim a great knowledge of scripture, but as a matter of practicality having female church leaders would reduce the number of children molested by church leaders, which would in turn increase the church’s reputation. The best message in the world falters if parents don’t bring their children to church.
There are plenty of women who molest. Look at the number of teachers arrested for having sex with students. Women are not immune to evil.
Don’t break the model. Break the bad actors in the model.
Saddlebrokeback.
As a female refugee from a once-holy, once-Biblical church that committed feminist suicide (UMC), I am glad to see another denomination learning from those mistakes.
Some individual women may be fine; but pressure groups of activist women inside a denomination to change the clear meaning of the scriptures—which are clear on this topic of not having women as pastors over men—are not good.
Most of the old-time mainstream denominations are victims of modernity's era of electronic communications, in which bad ideas proliferate with ever-increasing rapidity under a cover of good intentions. The cover story may be true or false: “If you like your doctrine, you can keep your doctrine”—until the next national convention, where delegates can vote the scriptures up or down. This has been the fate of Wesley's formerly trustworthy church.
Our preacher was one who voted to expel.
Amen and amen to your post.
LOL. (You’re gonna get roasted for forgetting the /s tag.)
It's hardly “libel” to post a rebuttal to someone who failed to use a sarcasm tag—
which is a forward slash followed by the letter 's' or the abbreviation 'sarc',
i.e. /s or /sarc )
Things are slipping around here! :-)
This is the "taxpayers should provide needles to drug abusers" or "schools should give condoms to teenagers because they're having sex anyway" approach.
Many churches now do background checks on all workers, including Sunday School volunteer teachers, custodial staff, kitchen help -- anyone who can access children alone on the premises.
Women are not immune to evil.
I never said they were, but statistically men commit 92.5% of all sex crimes.

Well it’s implied that the person supports this. So, it kind of is…
But I also like to use the words libel and slander to get it out there for the sake of countering liberal hatred. They are constantly libeling and slandering everything from individuals to the entire USA. I think we need to think of those words when dealing with them. (I know, that’s a tangent.)
In fact, men commit almost all crime, not just sex stuff. Yet no one says “it’s sexist to keep arresting men” as they do for blacks.
And, despite conservative protests about homosexuals, most child molestation is men on girls.
