Re: "The Swamp must be drained"

Wasn't Trump supposed to do that during his first term?

Trump appointed or approved every one of his own U.S. Attorneys, every FBI senior executive, and every Attorney General and DOJ senior executive.

Trump appointed Chairman-General Milley, and six of the eight "Woke" Joint Chiefs of Staff who still work for Joe Biden.

With friends like this...!

Well stated. Wholesale rejection of the same old same old. Rejection of the big government policies of the uniparty. Rejection of anything even closely related to the Swamp. We're done.

In 30 years that I've been voting Republican, we've handed the GOP win after win, only to have them become milquetoast swamp creatures time and again. From the read my lips of George Bush to the entirely un-Constitutional Patriot Act pushed by his son to the multiple GOP Houses and Senates, every single time, they back down to the anti-American leftist marxist democrats. Every. Single. Time.

Trump is guilty of it too, I'll admit. He never should have layed off Hillary once he was elected. She should have been in prison. As we've seen, the marxists have no problem following through.

GOP vs GOP polls are irrelevant. Trump or DeSantis could be up by 99%, who cares?

It’s nominee vs nominee and votes that count. Everything else is smoke and mirrors.

You would not recognized the second coming if it happened tomorrow.. No President Trump is not our ‘hail Mary’. We have but one Lord and Saviour.. we are against your rock. Your rock is NOT our Rock! Tell your criminal in charge to keep his bloody hand off President Trump.

Good lord! What a credit you are to FR!!

You’re the nutjob the media always quotes when responding to leftist talking points.

And you KNOW so much about me! Holy hell - our side is doomed.

Our side? You are the one accusing Trump idolatry. I do not want to be on your side.. I do not worship mammon. I also reject those wolves dressed in sheep’s clothing..

A learned person would know who the prince of the power of air (waves) is.. why should I care what the devil preaches?

If DeSantis is going to run a serious campaign for President he simply must respond to Trump’s constant bombardment of him on Fox News. It’s said he’s well financed but why doesn’t he respond?

Short Answer - Because he can’t.

Longer Answer - He actually has responded to some of Trump’s attacks, but his responses have been tepid and not that effective.

There are two major reasons why he’s unable to respond effectively to Trump. First, he’s not that good at it. He doesn’t have the charisma to inspire people with his speaking. Anything he says invariably ends up sounding scripted, which it usually is.

Second, he’s boxed himself into a corner. His public persona, the image his campaign has embraced as its best chance at winning, is to portray him as someone who takes the high road, the adult in the room who’s focused on Biden and dismissive of Trump’s attacks as petty and irrelevant. He’s selling himself as Trump policies without the Trump baggage (i.e. Trump’s insults, etc.), so if he were to get into a truly heated back and forth with Trump it would undercut that message.

On top of that, Trump is simply more effective at those types of exchanges so DeSantis would very likely end up coming out the loser on that metric alone.
