Trump made Fauci a household name.

Your beef is with Pence and the rest of the swamp. If this wasn't led by Fauci, it would have been led by some other 'I am the science' type. Our institutions are filled to the brim with those types. That's not even arguable.

This forum is full of people with outstanding hindsight. Some even consider themselves 'experts' and no doubt would have breezed through that whole charade better than Trump.

That’s complete and utter bullshit. Trump put Pence in charge of the task force. Trump held press conferences every day with Fauci where he let Fauci run the show. Trump took Fauci’s advice and followed it to the letter. Trump did those things. No amount of blaming the swamp will make that untrue.

At the time, of course, we didn’t know what COVID was or how to fight it, so I don’t look at much of what happened during the spring and summer of 2020 and “blame” anyone, but those things happened and the fact that Fauci was front and center is 100% on Trump.

What he signed into law is not what the poster claims. The law the poster is talking about has been on the books for probably 100 years or more, and every state and the federal government have similar laws. The bill Desantis signed prohibited business and schools from requiring proof of vaccination for Covid.

“ Or is everyone done with the stupid agitprop articles yet?”

Nah.
That’s most of what’s online.
Reasonable thoughtful discussion?
Heck no, better to shout and scream at people and call them losers.

Here's SB1262 which was passed in 2002 and signed into law by Jeb Bush. Page 5, line 23 is where the vaccinations were added to existing law. SB1262 - 2002

Here's H0697, which was passed in 2015 and signed into law by Rick Scott. Page 5, paragraph 4 is the relevant paragraph where the word "isolated" was added. H697 - 2015

And here's HB 7B, which was passed in 2021 and signed into law by Ron DeSantis. Starting on page 3, paragraph 4, all references to "vaccinated" and "vaccination" were removed. HB 7B

The link in the original post doesn't involve the portion of the law that allowed (or now, doesn't allow) forced vaccination. That language was in the law already from the 2002 version of the law seen above. You can tell that the vaccine portion was not an addition in the original poster's link because that portion is not in green. The words in green are what was added by the June 2021 bill, then in late 2021, they did another revision to remove the 2002 vaccination language.

No, it’s been on the books since 2002 when Jeb Bush signed it into law. It was updated in 2015 when Rick Scott signed an update that allowed “isolation” in addition to vaccination. Then, in June 2021, Ron DeSantis signed an update that disallowed businesses requiring vaccination records. Then in late 2021, he signed another update that removed the forced vaccination language.

Quarantine laws in Florida go back to the 1800’s. Perhaps the current version of the law was passed in 2002, but there is a much longer history than that.

Not sure, but I also don’t know if he’s read anything about the adverse results since then or not. He may be just continuing on with what he thought about it from the early days when most people believed the fearporn to the extreme.

Trump does do that. He never pushed making anything mandatory though.

These words in the bill were kind of scary.

“Furthermore, SB 2006 states that if an individual is deemed to pose “a danger to the public health, the State Health Officer may subject the individual to isolation or quarantine.”

“If there is no practical method to isolate or quarantine the individual, the State Health Officer may use any means necessary to vaccinate or treat the individual.”Ron DeSantis signed SB 2006 into law, giving Florida’s “health authorities” unprecedented power over Floridians and their bodies.

Also under the DeSantis-signed legislation, “any order of the State Health Officer” is “immediately enforceable” by law enforcement, turning police officers into state quarantine and injection agents. What’s more, is that the law even calls for volunteers to help the authorities in their forced quarantine and injection quests, offering up rewards to those who are willing to help”

People forget that the reason forced vaccination was added to the law wasn’t for some manufactured virus/vaccine combo like COVID-19. It was in the wake of 9/11 and was really for Ebola and other types of diseases like that where death would occur within days of exposure. Those provisions were never really controversial until COVID-19, which has pretty much been the worst marketing campaign for vaccines in history.

If someone has West African Ebola (kills 90% of the people it infects) or some other extremely dangerous virus, the state SHOULD be able to force isolation or quarantine. That’s what those provisions in the law are for, not for a flu-like virus that is extremely survivable.

Did you misread my post? I understand quarantine, and yes it can be necessary.

You left out the part talking about forced injection and volunteers to force inject people.

Did you miss that part?

Well of course, but that is not what they did. Laws get broken and interpreted incorrectly all the time.

The entire linked article is pure BS. I gave you the citations of the actual law showing what actually happened. If you continue to believe that Ron DeSantis signed something to grant the power to do forced injections to the state government, you’re being a willful moron.

Nope. Not tired at all. We're heading into primary season and FR is going to be silly for the next year and two months.

Grab popcorn. The dumbassery will far surpass anything in the WuFlu/Ukraine threads.
