May this be the first of many successes
That’s a good point.
LOL, you are a madman. Even Pentagon had corroborated the shoot-down.
If they are telling the truth, they are using hypersonic missiles in some cases but the payload can also be delivered conventionally.
A hypersonic missile must have a visible scoop for the scramjet engine intake. The photographs don't show that feature.
In Russian media the "hypersonic" feature has been highlighted as a unique feature to create an impression it's a new and advanced design (hypersonic glide and scramjet) while "Kinzhal" uses a standard ballistic missile technology at greater speeds. The "hypersonic" feature is shared with many older designs and does not represent any particular technological breakthrough.[7][8]It almost suggests that they have a hypersonic missile but in most cases they are using the same payloads but in a conventional delivery at sonic speeds.The overall design of the missile is shared with the 9K720 Iskander, with the guidance section modified for Kinzhal. It can reportedly hit both static targets and mobile ones such as aircraft carriers.[9][10]
If Russia really wanted to destroy it then they would use multiple entry warheads.
Horse feathers. Even though damaged, momentum and mass would have left a rain of destructive debris.
I’ve always thought that one of the weaknesses of the Patriot Missile system was this: If the missiles cost a million dollars each, all that you have to do is fire $10,000 missiles at it all day long until somebody runs out of money.
The Patriot missile has gone through many upgrades since the Iraq war.
It said two Patriot “Systems”, which I assume is a battery. The battery has one radar and four or five firing platoons, each platoon with several launchers. The launchers are remote from the radar, miles away, though there are usually a couple of launchers near the engagement controller, one engagement controller per battery, as well. The Engagement controller is remoted (about 100 yards) from the radar.
A single radar only has approximately a 90 degree coverage cone, so they are meant to be deployed at battalion level, four or five batteries, with interlocking coverage. The Patriot radar is not particularly powerful, it can detect fighter aircraft out to about 150 km, and engage targets out to about 90 km.
You can hit a bullet with a battleship, if you have adequate prior knowledge about the bullet’s course.
The Russians haven’t been dropping gravity bombs on Kyiv. They’ve been firing missiles with aircraft from the enemy side of the front line and from outside of the borders, where it’s safer for their aircraft so far. The photo on the upper right shows the head of the missile.

Russian propaganda on the matter is weak as usual.
The Truth About Russia’s ‘Hypersonic’ Kinzhal Missiles
Putin’s new missile is not breaking the laws of physics—just stretching the truth.

Right, they denied it on Friday, but on Saturday with the evidence of the downed Kinjal, announced the intercept.

It didn't happen... It happened, but it doesn't count... Hypersonic missiles can not be shot down... A hypersonice missile was shot down, but hypersonic missiles are not really hypersonic... The Kinzhal is not a hypersonic missile... We can't trust anything news so don't know what happened.
Whatever happened, it is not what the Ukraine and US say happened.
Please ignore the photo of the Kinzhal nose cone with the Patriot fragment sized hole in it.
Also ignore this is one more Russian weapon whose sales potential just dropped.
It's happening! Ukraine's President Zelensky has met with executives from BlackRock to auction off Ukraine for profit. He solicited this in a recent speech and now it is happening. In case you were wondering who would be enriched by this war: big business. Not you.
Short version:
It was reported shot down.
Ukrainian spokesman did not confirm.
Russia Shill Inc (™) called this a denial.
Ukraine later confirmed.
(Russian trolls talking about it, refused to keep up with the story)
Update on the conflict in Ukraine for May 13, 2023:
- Russian media space panics over false claims of Ukraine’s offensive beginning;
- The trading of territory in Bakhmut is typical of urban combat operations and does not indicate a “momentum shift” until the vector sum of the fighting begins favoring Ukraine rather than Russian forces;
- Additional evidence has surfaced that Ukraine is using some of its best military hardware in and around Bakhmut including German-made self-propelled howitzers, indicating that Russian plans to draw in and destroy Ukraine’s best troops and equipment is working;
- Ahead of Ukraine’s offensive, both sides are conducting long-range strikes. For Russia it is about disrupting Ukraine’s offensive potential. For Ukraine it is about shaping the psychological and media landscape of the conflict;
- The Storm Shadow cruise missile is air-launched and for targets deep inside Russian territory to be under threat, Ukrainian warplanes must travel dangerously close ot the line of contact and expose themselves to Russian air defenses. The missiles themselves must circumvent Russian air defense systems and electronic warfare measures;
- The terrain mapping feature most likely will require intelligence sharing between Ukraine and the US-UK in order to make the missile’s use most effective;
- While Storm Shadow missiles and other long-range weapons Ukraine may have will inevitably make it through to their targets these are not capabilities Russia doesn’t already have and in greater abundance. If these are war-winning capabilities, Russia is going to win the war first;
