Oh, if we only had laws for eligibility and qualifications for certain other offices.
We have too many unqualified and incompetent people in all levels of government.
On one hand I can certainly see how "certification" requirements can be abused, if you're not a member of some approved club, you can't run.
On the other hand, isn't that what we have now? Only a different club.

So lack of meeting an Eligibility is now an arrest able crime? To lock down the case against her, the prosecuting attorney should liken her eligibility to falsifying business records, and then elevate that to a felony. She'll then do hard time for that, and never be able to run for office again.

“Started out running for sheriff, ended up running from the sheriff.”
You didn’t read the article. She ran from no one.
Yes, I know you were just making a witticism.

Seems to me that she should LEARN THE LAW if she wants to run, particularly if one supports Trump.

Well, if it a designated elective office in the CA constitution, then arresting her sets the stage to challenge the law, since she has now been materially harmed by it.

Yeah, apparently she’s going to jail for perjury, but if posed the question, “Do you have the qualifications to become sheriff,” well, that’s quite different than the question, “Do you have at least one year of law enforcement experience (which is mandatory for the position you’re running for)?”
The article doesn’t specify which one she was asked.
