Putin’s Powerful Orthodox Church Ally Helps Cement Russian Support for War
“..Patriarchy of Moscow is controlled by the Russian state..”
Am asking because I honestly don’t know, how does this work? Who in government oversees the church? How does control of a church affect day to day operation, their preaching?
I have visited orthodox churches here in the US a number of times over the years with friends and found them heavy in liturgy and very Biblical in preaching.
The Azov Bn and other ultra nationalist ( ie, OUN nazi retreads) were formed and funded by wealthy oligarchs ( some or all Jewish fwiw) to secure their business interests in Ukraine, economically and politically. With force and intimidation as necessary. Their operatives are placed in key sectors of Ukrainian political parties ( those not eliminated by Zelensky): in oversight posts in internal security and intelligence, and in military units. Some have been formed into elite military units such as AZOV and monitor the loyalty of the regular forces. They command “barrier units” with the mission of executing would-be deserters or those trying to surrender.
One of these oligarchs, currently living in Israel, Igor
Kolomoisky, is Zelensky’s patron and was instrumental in selecting him to be the perfect front to be installed into the Presidency
The principal Ukrainian Orthodox Church IS the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. It is NOT the enemey and not working for Russia.
It’s the only canonical Orthodox church in Ukraine and is not involved in politics, but worship, and the Zelensky regime knows it.
You couldn’t be more wrong. (I think you know this, too.)
We know that Ukraine is trying to limit the damage from the KGB/FSB connected state church.
Just as the Pope works for the CIA, right
Communist China is trying to create a state version of Catholicism to replace the actual Catholic church in China.
The Communists switched to using the church to absorb and utilize and channel religious impulses and energy.
In Russia’s case that has been true for centuries.
So these guys aren’t “canonical”?

That will be an interesting explanation.
Prove it.
We know that Zelensky is following orders of the OUN ( WW 2 nazi retread nationalists (WW2 nazi collaborators) to erase Russian history, culture, language to try to create a “ pure” Ukrainian nationality.
By whatever means it takes. Genocidal is openly discussed as a solution.
Within political boundaries drawn by past empires around historically Russian territories inhabited by millions of people with that history, culture, and language.
Wow, getting pretty nutty there.
We do? Is that what Zelenskyy says? Churches are the biggest threat to Zelenskyy and his government, along with media outlets, and political organizations? Were there any banks with Russian connections in Ukraine, and if so, did he toss them out?
Not all churches, just the anti-Ukraine Russian ones.
Remember that Ukraine is being invaded by Russia and are fighting for their lives in the biggest European war since WWII, so pro-Russia organizations are under restraint or banned.
In part, the FSB, formerly the KGB.
Patriarch Kirill (and a bunch of his predecessors) was a KGB agent during the last decades of the Cold War, and he was a leading light of what became the pro-Soviet World Council of Churches (WCC).
You will find this in Mitrokhin, and others.
A church. Not “Churches”.
Wiki?
Where’s the other side?
Who do you suppose is being expelled?
And answering your question, no, the OCU is not canonical.
It’s false.
Ukraine has freedom of religion. Russia does not. Non Orthodox denominations are allowed to operate in Ukraine. There is a very large Lutheran church in Odessa. That isn’t allowed in Russia.
Oh well then, that's okay, because everyone who attended that church must have been spies, and Russian assets.

They can simply attend another Orthodox church like most Ukrainians do.
