It's 6AM on Sunday March 12th and I want to tell you that I hate Daylight Savings Time

“Current Biology predicts that killing Daylight Savings Time could prevent 36,550 deer deaths, 33 human deaths, 2,054 human injuries and $1.19 billion in collision costs per year.”

Yea, and we can balance the budget in ten years.

I am as fine as frogs’ hair, and I like DST.

DST year round would be fine with me.

I like having sun after work. It means I can mow and do outdoor things. The drawback to not changing the clocks is that kids would go to school in the dark in winter. DST is a compromise that gives adults some light after work in summer and gets the kids to school after sunrise in the winter.

It's called "War Time". Which may be coming fairly soon.

I did that for about 6 months in a power plant for
a large industrial plant. Didn’t take long for me
realize that wasn’t my life endeavor.

It’s in the middle of the Pacific where hardly anyone lives. Put there to disrupt as few people as possible.

I am concerned about the effect the extra hour of daylight will have on global warming.

👍 me too!

It’s not uncommon to loose an hour of sleep here and there. **It happens. As the days get shorter in the fall, I find that hour of daylight at the end of the day, even more valuable, especially for kids in the frozen north. It’s miserable getting out of school at 3pm and then it’s dark by 4. A kid’s free time is gone.

Those of us who have bioclocks for night time definitely appreciate the longer days. We get to feel normal.

If loosing an hour’s sleep is so disruptive to your sleep schedule, go to bed an hour earlier. Your body will adjust before the week is over.

Ok.....My dad loved DST, too. Many do for the reasons that you do.

Please, please, please.....then let’s have DST all year long!

I’m here laughing. I have the same setup, along with blue tape on top of the clock to mark 12:00, pencil on wall. Mark on clock for 6:00, pencil mark on wall. It weighs 35lbs. I wasn’t thinking ahead about the time change when I bought the damn thing. It does look nice on the bare wall over the fridge.

Devil hates a coward, just brought the 10-foot ladder in.

If it weren’t raining here and I didn’t have to carry the (tall & heavy) ladder in from the garage, I would reset the clock today. It should stop raining tomorrow afternoon so I’ll do it then.

“every day is Saturday”

My working friends hate it when I tell ‘em that 😁

I just have to wonder how my puppy knew about the time change. He’s already adjusted his sleep schedule.

My cat’s stomach clock did too. He gets his wet food at 5:00 every afternoon. He knew when it was5:00 on the dot today.

I asked him how he did that. He meowed something about “Time to fill this bowl, ya biped.”

Switching to DST makes it darker in the AM. Sunrise not until 7:30am in Northern states.
