We’re apparently going to get hammered in Southern California as well - 8 inches of rain are predicted (I live in the foothills, but not in a land slide area, thankfully).

Problem is our major roads flood - because of poor drainage (and poor maintenance and planning, $$ from gas tax goes into the general fund for lefty programs and illegals).

Guess I’ll cancel my trip to the car wash tomorrow...

I have no idea - I’m in Southern California and haven’t heard about any power outages around here (not yet, anyway) - we get our power outages during heat waves, when it’s over 105 degrees THAT’s when the power goes down - rolling blackouts, dontcha know.

Some of my friends have the bird killers on land they farm (they are tenants). There is a lady that goes around each chopper and counts dead birds. They kill far more bats than birds. When the bats or birds get close the low pressure from the blades sucks the air out of their lungs. Cruel way to die. They have asked her what she is finding.

More rain means more vegetation, which means more wildfires this spring and summer. Don’t use your dollars for reparations, because you’ll need them for fighting fires.

Geographically, California is a Republican state.

The insanely large Los Angeles Basin is what makes us, as a state, vote like communists.

The insanely large Los Angeles Basin is what makes us, as a state, vote like communists.

It's the same as the large state of New York. Four of NYC's five boroughs tilt the state blue. Upstate, it's mostly conservative. Even out on Long Island, there are many conservative strongholds.

Many point to Staten Island as a conservative borough of NYC but only has 500,000 residents. The other four boroughs (Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn) have 8,300,000 people.

Now I've been to California many times and love the state. However, the Los Angeles and San Francisco metro areas are massive and vote mostly blue. This overwhelms the rest of the colossal state.

For those who have not been to LA, it has to be experienced to be believed. You can drive 40-50 miles and see nothing but urban jungle with hundreds of Starbucks, Whole Foods, etc. In fact, I was recently in San Diego and took I-5 towards LA. Soon as I got to the northern border of Camp Pendleton, it became basically Los Angeles. When I was stationed at Pendleton in the early 80s, you had to get 30-40 miles north of Pendleton to get into the urban part of LA Metro.

It will be possible from all that OT.

I know around my way, storm crews are on 16 hours of OT and paid another 8 to sleep.

Yes I have been to LA and it was to me an unending ugly strip mall.

San Francisco otoh is very beautiful from many perspectives and the homeless squalor is limited to certain streets so you can have a drug camp free life here if you avoid say the tenderloin and south of market and the mission.

Every state can say the same. It really doesn’t matter as the state legislature and governor are dominated by liberals and it infects others. The US is balkanizing and I’m not sad about that.
