The worst case is that the temp is 1/2 degree more in a century.

True that. Look at the graph below, though. One thing the warmageddonists are right about is that a slight average change makes a world of difference in our natural experiences from climate change. They're wrong about it on two accounts:

One is, as the graph illustrates, that our Modern Warm Period is nothing new under the sun. In fact, it's not as warm as prior warming periods for the past 7,000 years. The overall trend is for future warming periods to not get as warm as prior warming periods (likewise future cooling periods to be cooler than prior cooling periods).

The other thing is that warming periods are great times to be alive. Warming periods = higher crop yields and more predictable rain patterns and less deaths by plague. Cooling periods = the opposite of all 3 of those. These are historical facts. Thus, the little bit of average change in temps makes a world of difference. For the past 2 centuries, that "world of difference" from warming has been a good thing and should be celebrated, not feared.
