What is “bonkers’ is the idea that Russia was trying to take over Ukraine.

It’s currently a war between globohomo and russia. You’re an idiot if you don’t think the west is up to it’s neck in this supposed war. NATO troops are all over the battlefield keeping Ukraine alive.

Just because you never heard of them ... let us say your education has been frightfully narrow and parochial. Almost as bad as that of US “liberals”. Fix that, now.

Robert Conquest was a Soviet-lover? In what universe?

The Polish government is “globohomo”?

There are some bizarre people in this world, and lots of them pop up in Ukraine threads.

“The funny part is trying to figure out how NATO will defend itself against Russia, now that virtually all of its ground-based weapons have been disposed of in Ukraine.”

The 1 million pounds of GPS guided munitions that are already pre positioned in NATO bunkers and airfields. Unlike the ground stuff trucked to Ukraine, the delivery will be strait to the intended customer, fused and on target.

There is no indication the Russian air force could stop a NATO effort. Honestly a year ago I suggested 24 to 48 squadron level missions all the way to Kiev air space, just to get the Russians to burn their aircraft hours in the counter mover to protect Moscow against attack.

I don’t know. Are you telling me that the polish government stands united with Ukraine without money from the west? My bank tells me to unite against Russia! My credit card companies tell me donate to Ukraine! Buncha of BS!

Russia may be of the opinion that NATO forces may not be as tough and committed as the Ukes are.

Just LOL. Your estimations of NATO abilities and Russian incompetence is based on what? NATO never engaged anyone able to fight back.
And by the way, do you realize what is needed to put down a bridge? What missile are you going to use for it?
Regarding your comment of “Serb stupidity” would you tell me what the Serbs did that Uoraine didn’t.

>>All the Russians have to do is withraw<<

A move that the Ukes will object to’

Russia withdraws and lucrative US aid will dry up. US aid is essential to rebuild Ukraine unless the “generous” EU will cough up the money. A new Marshall Plan is forthcoming. Just you wait.

They stood united with Ukraine before there was money at stake. They saw the Russian danger long before. Thats why they initiated the Norwegian pipeline and started a military buildup years ago, including the Korean tank deal and the US M1 deal.

That, for instance, is why they were able to send 500 tanks to Ukraine. They arranged for backfill BEFORE the war.

The Poles knew what was coming, before anyone else, probably even the Ukrainians.

The Russians will pay reparations. Russian assets abroad are way too big to hide, and the Ukes have incentives to look for them! Also, note, Russia HAS to export. And can’t hide that either.

ATACMS would work in most cases. Thats 6X the warhead of the HIMARS rockets Ukraine has been using. Also your garden variety 2000lb JDAM works just fine - the US/Nato actually can do SEAD. Check out what Israel did with these on Lebanese highways in 2006.

And then there are the exotics - JASSM and the JDAM’ed ALCMs.
Those will do bridges just fine. More likely used on airfields though.

And thats just the Americans. The British and French have some too.

JDAM deep inside the territory? lol.
You still failed to answer what the Serbs did that Ukraine didn’t.

Job #1 is SEAD. Hence JDAMs for interdiction. As the Israelis regularly do vs the same kind of air defense (S300/S400).

Who said you that the Israelis are targeted by these systems in the first place? I don’t deny that everybsystem can be evaded under certain scenarios but not on a massive scale where you want to hit targets deep behind the enemy lines. The USAF wouldn’t risk losing a hundred jets to hit some bridge.
And you still didn’t answer the Serb question. Intellectual dishonesty anyone?
