The GOP should've ran the board; House, Senate, and multiple statehouses. It should've been a slaughter.
Barely winning the House while losing almost all the state-wide races in the crucial battleground states that the GOP needs to flip is pretty damn pathetic, given the circumstances.
Sure, things could've been worse but by no measure were the midterm elections a success for Republicans, --unless you live in Florida.

I agree with this statement.
It does make them less than reliable politically though. Or not "future thinking" enough politically perhaps.
To me “evangelical” means more like spreading the word. But that doesn’t mean yelling on street corners. To me.
It means waiting for the right moment to say the inspired thing to a nonbeliever or shaky believer.
Has to be inspired. You can’t plan it or rehearse it. You’ll know it was inspired afterwards by how spontaneous it was, and how fervently you said it, and how everyone stops talking because something true has been said.

They are the most reliable, consistent, and irreplaceable conservative voters, without them, there is no conservatism or the republican party.
Evangelicalism is also the path to the GOP that immigrants and minorities take.
We picked up 9 seats. We should've picked up 30 in the House and 2 in the Senate.
