The island that is the size of Oregon is also the prime mover for environmental fanaticism. That fanaticism is growing in the United States and has the potential to hammer our agriculture sector.
This information bothers conservatives who want to blame China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, etc for eco zealotry.
Foreign enemies are easier to blame than a country we have a historic & economic relationship with.
Watch out where the huskies go...
If only we had spent another ten trillion dollars and all bought EVs, we could have avoided this serious and deadly warming.
I hear you!
I grew up in upstate NY, too, and we did love it as kids. Sledding, snowball fights, building snow forts and igloos, backyard ice rinks. It was easy on Dad, too, because he just had to command “Go shovel the driveway, son.”
14 years there, then 7 in nearly-as-cold Missouri. Then I wised up, packed up, and went to CA where it was a lot warmer and MUCH sunnier year round.
So we bought a summer place in North Idaho five years ago where I am right now. It is 9 degrees outside at the moment with a foot of snow on the ground. Ugh! My wife loves it year-round here so the idea of summers here blew up. But I’m going back to our California place after Christmas and stay there until May. I think the difference is she didn’t grow up in winter areas and spend 20 years figuring out how to leave it behind.
She and our daughter who came for a last minute weekend visit just went skiing. Lots of good skiing around here.
Unpossible.
We are in the midst of libtard winter.
“The Met Office has already issued a yellow snow warning for parts of northern Scotland and the Northern Isles on Wednesday, as snow showers could cause travel disruption.
LOL, a yellow snow warning.
Is yellow snow an official weather term? I’ve never heard it used as part of some official weather report as they are using it here.
I guess someone with a British sense of humor shortened it from this: “a yellow weather warning for snow and ice”.
And now, a little Frank Zappa....
Heehee.
Also I would bet she’s not the one that has to shovel out the walkways and driveways, put the chains on the vehicles or warm them up before she comes out of the house!
She probably doesn’t have to cut, split, and haul the wood for the fire place either, DOES SHE?
My wife loves the winters here also, me, not so much.
