It doesn’t look like it has a large carrying capacity. The B-21 is designed to replace the B-2, not the B-52 which is the weapons system utilized for heavy carpet-bombing (in addition to it's cruise missile capability). Those old girls will be flying until 2035 at which point it'll probably be replaced (maybe) by a next generation heavy bomber.

At $750m each that’s about 25. As long as NG manages overruns, AF may get 30.

I misunderstood. I thought was replacing the B-52.
That will be interesting to see the B-52’s replacement. It will be hard to replace a plane that was designed 75 years ago.

The aircraft is beautiful. The corporate culture Iranman gala “ceremony” is completely gay. Can you imagine unveiling the P-51 or Hellcat this way, concert style with lights, dramatic music, etc?
Compare it to 1988 and the B-2 rollout.

And don’t look for the roll out of the F-14, F-15, etc. All you will get results for “roll rate”.

It will be hard to replace a plane that was designed 75 years ago. And that has been (and continues to be) most effective. We've sure gotten a lot of bang for our buck with them.

No, Jobama’s more than likely already given it to China and Iran
To: DesertRhino
Thoroughly obnoxious, isn’t it? Lots of blah, blah, glitz, awful dramatic “music” and no meant. Then the woman says “Thank you to everyone for sharing in this historic event.” “SHARING”??
It reminded me of the unserious giggly woman announcing the Orion launch a couple weeks ago.

Sorry but, KNOWING WHO IS IN CHARGE OF THIS COUNTRY RIGHT NOW doesn't exactly give me goose bumps watching this thing roll out..
Weapons in the hands of those who STEAL OUR ELECTIONS AWAY FROM US are nothing to be proud of.

Geez, I had to get 14 posts down before there was one of substance. Thanks for the observation.
I can't wait to see it in daylight so more comparisons and contrasts can be made.

I’m with you. Take a glance at the 1988 B-2 rollout. At the time that was considered over the top.

Well done. I have a theory as why the intake was changed. I am not willing to discuss that just yet.

It may be quite a while before we get to see it in the daylight.
It's possible that first flight will be at night from Edwards AFB to Area 51 and all flight test done there.
Or I could be totally wrong.

Wow. That would be a lifespan for the B-52 of about 85 years.
To: FtrPilot
They have tunnels from Edwards to Area 51 now, they wont fly it there
