There is no way Biden will be impeached by 2024.

The investigations simply take too long.

By the time impeachment came around it would be July 2024

What’s impeachment by the House actually do?

I’ll answer for you - Leads to trial in the Senate, where they’ll eventually vote to convict\remove or not.

So, you think that assuming all GOP vote to convict; there will be 17-18 more Senators all Rat that will have a sudden attack of respect for the Constitution and the rule of law and vote to convict?

Will that happen?

I know the answer, you obviously prefer to pretend they will.

You have your impeachment. Nothing will happen or change. I am sure you will then feel very morally superior to me. (Just like Rats got to feel morally superior to us by impeaching Trump twice!)

Oh yeah - Just wow!

I am not saying do nothing! I am saying use the House Holman Rule! It’s a House only action does not require the Senate and has a better chance of doing something effective then the impeachment kabuki dance! It may not get the justice deserved but it has a good chance of getting some justice rather than zero!

It’s a BS maneuver from a party that doesn’t have policies people want to vote for.

But, I guess the GOP could run on abortion again. That’s always. Big winner.

If I were the Dems, I would get abortion and legalized week on every ballot possible.

What’s the point? We have a one vote majority. There is no way a majority is going to vote to impeach Biden unless there are smoking guns all over the place and the Dems decide that it’s better to cut him loose.

Relax my FRiend. We just have difference views on the matter. That doesn’t mean either one of us is superior to the other, morally or otherwise.

My view is simply that I would like to see egregious crimes exposed for the public to see. The Biden family corruption and Joe’s role in it (and the associated national security risks), Mayorkas’ refusal to do his job, and Garland’s abuses of power all deserve to be seriously investigated and thoroughly exposed. Even in the absence of conviction I believe its still important for the country to know the facts and consequences of allowing malfeasance in office.

You have a different opinion and reasons for it so that’s fine. Free Republic is a forum for exchanging ideas, not an arena for to establish superiority of views.

Thanks to 3 impeachments the public will pay little attention. In fact many will get mad if it preempts their daytime TV shows, which it will have to do if the public is to get “the facts”. If it’s not prempting the daily TV unreality feast you’re then relying on the MSM to get the “facts” out. Good luck with that!

That’s why I think use of the Holman Rule and using the budget is the only tools that might be effective. They’re at least completely in the House prerogative, no “Mother may I with the Senate?”. At a minimum make the Rats choose Trump special prosecutor funding or a budget, FBI cleanup/ investigation or a budget, etc., couple with Holman Rule House actions. All these don’t require the Senate and might actually produce something.

“But I think the process should move forward anyway, for no other reason than it would expose secrets that need to be exposed.”

BINGO! Too many cowardly do-nothing RINO freepers here. GET IT DONE!!

The Holman Rule sounds good in theory but everything has limitations in practice. Even some Republicans have argued against its use in the past for a variety of reasons. When push comes to shove it may not be as effective as many think, but we’ll see.

I’m for trying anything and everything to push back on Democrat abuses.

Both require solidarity by the GOP in the House. Solidarity is something Rat World is good at the GOP not so much. At least it’s possible since its totally in GOP hands unlike impeachment\trial which would require 17-18 Rats for conviction, there also assuming GOP Senate solidarity (Which won’t happen!).

Agree with that.

However, you seem to be unequivocally opposed to impeachment, no matter what. So I ask again, would you take it completely off the table in light of clear evidence of treason or high crimes were they to be uncovered (which is not at all out of the realm of possibility)? The congress would be abdicating its responsibility if it didn’t.

If you get the GOP solidarity for an impeachment vote, an action with no real consequences. Then you have the solidarity for using the Holman Rule and the budget as a weapon\lever, all actions with consequences.

Why do you preference an action - impeachment which will have no consequences to actions that do?

Do you just like the word ‘impeachment’?

It all depends on GOP solidarity in the House, no Senate involvement. The House gets to decide if it’s going to do something - Holman\budget or pretend to do something - impeachment !

You refuse yet again to directly answer a simple question so its obvious that further discussion is a waste of time and pointless.

I answered your question!

I’ll make it simple.

Which is the more responsible act doing something that effectively accomplishes nothing or doing something that might accomplish something!

If you can’t figure it out, I can’t help!

Another dodge.

BTW McCarthy is talking about impeaching Mayorkas.
