DeSantis is Ted Cruz 2.0. He’s trying to pretend he’s above the fray. But his subtle swipes at Trump betray him. At some point his ambition will bring him to a collision course with Trump. At that point, the well crafted image DeSantis and his handlers have built will come crashing down. In the mean tim, he’ll continue to play the savior routine as Governor of Florida, where he faces virtually no opposition. He’s a lucky guy. It’s almost like the opposing team decided to sit down on the field and just let him score, and DeSantis is arrogant enough to spike the ball.
