"Micaela Burrow of the Daily Caller News Foundation reports that Facebook has a special access site where government officials can target what they consider to be “misinformation” on Facebook in order for it to be censored. Perfect illustration of how Big Government and Big Business go hand-in-hand."Daily Caller
How is your "don't worry, it's private censorship not government censorship!" theory going lately?

Yes they do snd I posted the portal image on my fb page. I have been continuously trying to get him to understand that if you allow private censorship of mass communications, you will get government censorship of mass communications.
So long as a government can wield power against a private entity, the entity will be forced to buckle to government demands.
The only way to stop government censorship is to not allow any kind of censorship.

But even if you were right it doesn't change the fact that our constitution protects these private companies from being forced to publish speech they don't want to.
Private companies can enforce any rules they want provided they don't violate the law. No shoes, no shirt, no service.
You want there to be an exception for something you call "mass communications" companies but none exists in the constitution.
I don't argue that your feelings are wrong, just that until the laws are changed or the Constitution is amended it doesn't really matter.

I was permanently suspended from Twitter in 2019.
I wonder if I was one of the people surveilled.

#36 Blackrock was in on this. They have $10 trillion in assets. No way they were able to do this without countries shoveling money to them.

OK, our constitution protects these private companies from having to carry communications traffic they don't want to. My understanding is that the public owns the spectrum. Always did.
It's not theirs to control.

My understanding is that the public owns the spectrum. Always did. What spectrum? Twitter doesn’t go out over the air.
And even if it did any restrictions would come with the spectrum license they purchased.

They had to harness the narrative control power of Big Tech in service of the political agenda of Big Government, to protect us from fascism.

Yup it’s fascism 101.
When State and corporate powers come together to oppress people. That is fascism.
To: semimojo
What spectrum? Twitter doesn’t go out over the air. Everything goes over the air or through network systems that cross state lines. The FCC regulates those too.
But let me present you with a conundrum. Since Telephone lines and systems can be required to carry all traffic, what is the constitutional basis for that?
Whatever that is, it is the same for all other communications systems.

"There is also a formalized process for government officials to directly flag content on Facebook or Instagram and request that it be throttled or suppressed through a special Facebook portal that requires a government or law enforcement email to use. At the time of writing, the 'content request system' at facebook.com/xtakedowns/login is still live. DHS and Meta, the parent company of Facebook, did not respond to a request for comment. The FBI declined to comment," The Intercept reports."Fu schneikes, that link is still alive. Gosh, if someone here had a leftover .gov address, gosh gosh.
