Quite true. And on those hard, cold winter days that do occur, poorly equipped Russian troops in the field will suffer badly. Who knows, but Ukraine may keep the initiative during the winter and keep driving the Russians out.

Freepers like to post that once the ground is frozen over in Ukraine, then Russia can really put its tanks to work. But what if a warm winter means no frozen ground? Or just for a week or two. And when frozen ground melts out, the ground gets extra muddy.
#2 Of course a warm winter means Europe is all set for energy. That Putin will get no traction, trying to freeze Europe into submission.
#3 How ironic if Putin’s staunch advocacy lead (in part) to global warming that lead to this winter being warm for Europe and Ukraine. Not that I believe in global warming, now branded as “climate change”. Just saying.... And having some laughs.
The weathermen can’t even tell us what the weather will be three days from now with any reliability. How can they predict an entire season?

Russia's current-account surplus so far in 2022 is more than triple what it was a year ago as energy revenues have skyrocketed, according to the country's central bank.

Fighting in their own country with modern winterized clothing, weapons, and equipment, the Ukrainians seem more like the Finns than the German army of 1941. No matter if the winter is warm or cold this year, the Russians will continue to do poorly against the Ukrainians.
