Those hypersonics they used in theater are not the main threat. FOBS is hard to detect, goes into a very low earth orbit, and approaches around the southern hemisphere. Our historic DEW line and defenses are arrayed to the north. These things can come in from the south and would be detected only minutes before impact. China has them too.
Even worse, though space based systems have a shot a seeing them, there is another problem. You can put it in an orbiting platform, and the nuclear attack isn’t missiles in silos rising somewhere in Russia. It is the mere deorbiting of a device that has been orbiting for months and was not what it seemed when launched.

What many do not know is during the Cuban missile crisis (we were a hairs brath from nuclear war) that Russia already had the missiles and devices there to fire at any time.
That’s why US wants control of Ukraine so badly - they want to put missiles and military bases there. ..and they surely would given the opportunity.

The two atomic bombs dropped on Japan were fission weapons. The explosive force of those weapons was 15 kilotons (15,000 tons)
Modern nuclear weapons employ fusion, an explosive power so intense a fission bomb is used the the “fuse” to trigger the fusion reaction. Fusion weapons have an explosive force of up to 5 megatons (5,000,000 tons).
I didn’t have much understanding of nuclear energy until my job took me to a Nuclear Energy Teaching Facility. ...when I saw how minutelly detailed they were - inch by inch - and what and how they had to protect themselves I was astounded.
Now if they go to that extent with Nuclear energy what indeed would be the result just in handling Nuclear weapons. Frightening to imagine.

I do not know that this idiot knows anything about what hes talking about. The United States does not have a counter attack system for taking out in-flight nuclear missiles. We don’t have one. If Russia launches, we cannot stop them. It will mean destruction on whatever city they are aimed at. All we can do is retaliate.
