Good on them, but it would have been better if they hadn't jumped on the "racist" bandwagon to condemn the student, based on uncorroborated hearsay, in the first place.
until they are sentenced to the jail term they lying about, it will continue...

It may be sweet she believes the unsupported word of her Goddaughter. But she’s running to become a judge and those potentially coming before ‘her’ bench deserve better than ‘sweet.’ They deserve a dispassionate, impartial, thorough investigation of the evidence. Which this incident shows she’s not disposed to make. Rather it shows she’s unfit for the bench, even though she may be perfectly qualified to stand before a bench as an advocate, so long as the other side has its own competing advocate. I hope candidates running against her run ads pointing out her failure to be judicious in this nationally high profile incident.
Bottom line: there is so little genuine racism that they have to fake it.
