[Pointless, ugly behavior for an MP. Really sad.]

The guy should be taken out to sea and fed to sharks. Saves on cleanup.

If Lo had wanted to harm him, he could have easily. But he let him go as the conflict appeared to quiet down.

From my perspective, taking down an armed person then allowing him to get back up is probably not a good idea.

Brazilians speak are insane. I speak from experience. One tried to tell me I was to buy chlorine for the hotel’s pool from him. Told the scumbag to get off the property and never come back, or the cops would be there in two minutes. Bye-bye douchebag! Loved our 2-way radios...

“Al Bundy is a 1st degree black belt?”

Ed O’Neill is a BJJ black belt under Rorion Gracie. It took him 16 years to get his black belt, which is longer than how long it usually takes to get a black belt in BJJ. This indicates that Ed probably didn’t train too many times per week.

In December 2007, O’Neill received his black belt. O’Neill states that he considers getting his black belt “the greatest achievement of my life, apart from my children.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_O%27Neill

O’Neill was quite the athlete. He was accepted to try out for the Steelers in 1969 in the NFL but was cut because he was competing with Joe Green and L C Greenwood.

“From my perspective, taking down an armed person then allowing him to get back up is probably not a good idea.”

The theory of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu has proven to be the most effective and most humane system of self defense. Like all martial arts, there are techniques that are quite deadly or can injure very easily. But Gracie never wished it to be like an attack or assassin’s form like, for instance, Dim Mak (death touch). It was created to throttle and maintain control of the assailant and allow the purveyor to escape. But there’s no consistent awareness of the failure of human nature. The shooter pulled the weapon as they were being separated so Lo wouldn’t have known about the gun when he originally protected himself and was possibly being held when it was discharged. The article doesn’t tell us that.

Do you know if the suspect, during the altercation, threatened the victims life? That happens quite often in altercations.

“”The police report into the death states that a witness saw policeman Henrique Otavio Oliviera Velozo grab a bottle from Lo’s table at the concert at the Clube Sirio and made threatening gestures with it just before his death, according to a report on MMA Fighting.””

Btw, when some one threatens you, threatens to kill you, you better believe them. A perfect example is this murder, right here.

When Indiana Jones was first released that was a highly controversial scene. The Wa Compost ‘movie critic’ particularly highlighted it as an example of western chauvinism.

“Btw, when some one threatens you, threatens to kill you, you better believe them.”

Lo did, but he was easily capable of stopping someone from an attack with a bottle. It wasn’t until others were breaking them up that the shooter produced a gun from a hiding place in his clothing. Remember, the art is based upon defense. He did that with the bottle. But neither he nor the people grabbing them knew Velozo had a gun and would pull it. Assumed it was defused.

“The report states that Velozo took a bottle from Lo’s table, prompting Lo to take him down and hold him. After being separated, the report states that Velozo took out a gun and shot Lo in the forehead.”

https://jiujitsutimes.com/leandro-lo-shot-to-death-at-concert-in-brazil/

Nothing in the sites I read said that Velozo was threatening to kill him. And we probably don’t know what happened as no two stories are alike.

Here is what the report you provided says.

“”The report states that Velozo took a bottle from Lo’s table, prompting Lo to take him down””

______________________________________________________

Took a bottle off his table and did what????????

Here below is the report from another source, which is a more current or recent report.

“”The police report into the death states that a witness saw policeman Henrique Otavio Oliviera Velozo grab a bottle from Lo’s table at the concert at the Clube Sirio and made threatening gestures with it just before his death””

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/mma/article-11090551/Leandro-Lo-death-Jiu-jitsu-legend.html

Which report do you think sounds more credible and believable?

“Do you know if the suspect, during the altercation, threatened the victims life?”

Could have but it wasn’t mentioned in the sites I read. The actual act of pulling a gun wasn’t until they were separated as far as we know.

But this happens to others, also. One day, Chuck Norris was walking down a Dallas street alone. He lived there while filming his TV show, “Walker, Texas Ranger.”

... in 1994, it was just Norris, who had no reason to think he would need to be on alert for potential thieves. He was a world champion fighter and tang soo do master and, even though it would be a decade or more before “Chuck Norris Facts” proliferated on the internet, everyone knew that the boogeyman checks for Chuck Norris under his bed every night.

As Norris walked down the street, two men approached him. They were a little bigger than the TV star and began to crowd him. Norris thought they wanted autographs. He smiled as the two men produced knives and demanded his wallet.

Norris had not only mastered tang soo do, he went back and mastered Judo, along with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Taekwondo and Karate. He used his skills to create his own style of fighting, called Chun Kuk Do. Even if the attackers didn’t know anything about these skills, Norris had been a martial arts master and film star for decades.

You can probably guess what happened next.

By the time the Dallas Police Department rolled up on the scene, they had to save the would-be muggers from Norris, who had broken the men’s arms and reduced them to puddles on the sidewalk, according to his autobiography.

https://www.military.com/veteran-jobs/two-criminals-once-tried-rob-wrong-air-force-veteran.html

Another article I read on this said that he had asked them if they knew who he was and they said yes and they didn’t believe any of it. According to that article, when the cops arrived he was leaning against a store front while they were stretched on the sidewalk and shrugged when the cops looked at him with his stetson back on. He was still in costume and was taking a walk to take a break between shots. It happens.

When someone is threatening you with a weapon in his hand, is it not reasonable to assume it’s a death threat?

Take a bottle and go threaten the first cop you come in contact with and see what happens. I will tell you what happens, the cop will kill you.

Witnesses said Velozo grabbed a bottle from Lo’s table and that the fighter took the cop down and held him

Now why would he physically assault another person?

I heard it was originally scripted as an extended fight scene with Jones using his bullwhip vs. the sultan's sword.

But come day of shooting, Harrison Ford was very sick and couldn't perform the stunts required of the fight scene, so Jones shooting the swordsman was substituted for the original scripted fight scene.
