I see that the defendant is involved in the anti-globalization movement. Russia is heavily into that. I wonder if that is one of the reasons some here on FR echo “the party line?”

Russian state propagandists are for or against whatever the Russian leadership thinks will help them. Ionov is just doing what communists do, supporting revolution, the destruction of free nations, and all of the other aspects of the radical left.
Ionov is not against globalism in reality, he just wants global communism.
Anyone who considers themselves a conservative or a patriotic American who believes Russian propagandists is a fool. A Russian propagandist will say they are against globalism but only to fool people. They want globalism too, just under their terms and control.
There’s a few more folks around here who shouldn’t be surprised if they get checked for any foreign ties.
That isn’t entirely hyperbole either. Let’s just say I have personal experience with people watching what I’m posting here.

I agree. And yet, there are a lot of FReepers who claim to be patriots who not only eagerly accept and believe Russian propaganda, they also regurgitate it and post it. Go figure.
