My recollection of life in Germany in the early 70s while stationed there was that they didn’t bother with showers or baths beyond weekly. Most of them took a daily whore bath in a pan or basin, as most of the existing housing I ever saw didn’t have a shower, only a tub. I guess they’ve modernized.
