"Here in Wisconsin, Kwik Trip is at $4.89 as of right now. I filled up last week Friday at $4.69."

I was out buying extra dry dogfood at Costco this morning but I didn't even notice any of the gas prices here.

I think they're forecasting above $5.00 gallon average to happen for the USA this week.

$5.89 in my neighborhood.

It was $5.15 when I left for Alaska on May 28th.

Imagine my surprise this morning when I got home. Yikes.

I only have electric heat, although a shop has gas. I’m beginning to wonder if I need to install a wood stove. What they’re prognosticating truly is terrible. I don’t want to be in 20 degree F weather with no heat source.

"Propane was $1.79/gallon in October 2020. Today it is at $2.99/gallon. "

I have many of the 20 pound (BBQ type) propane tanks for my 'hurricane' generator. I have those filled at Costco for $9.00 each I don't know how pounds relates to gallons. I bought those tanks over the years at garage sales @ about $3.00 each.

A gallon of propane is around four lbs.

Okay, thanks

So...one of those tanks is about five gallons so that means 20 pounds is five gallons which equals $1.80 a gallon.

It's been a while since I've gone there...I expect it's gone up some now.

Except that it will be very rare that you actually get five gallons in one of those canisters.

Starting with an empty one, you’ll generally hit “full” at around 4.5 gallons.
