Even the deputy whose daughter was murdered along with the other kids? Also, should he comply with your desires immediately at the expense of his wife, or should he bury his daughter first?

The article says he walked back what he said. Maybe he didn’t have proof it was this guy.

If you were armed but untrained, it is still unlikely you would have been successful. Remember that two law enforcement officers tried and both were injured before they retreated. Rationally, what are your chances against such a guy who is just waiting for you when you don’t even have a bullet resistant vest?
Also, please keep in mind it probably didn’t take the murderer much time to slaughter all the little ones: you would likely have thrown your life away only to find that you were too late.
How could you be sure which class room he was in? What if you went in to a class room, started taking kids out and then got slaughtered in the hall way with your back turned while he came out from “nowhere”? Who knows what might have happened, right?
That’s probably why the officers were waiting for the SWAT team and their equipment; equipment that clearly saved at least one officer’s life: the ballistic shield, for example. Also, you don’t know what all other additional equipment the team had and used.
Please remember this kid was about eighteen and probably physically fit: at the very least he was used to standing and entire shift. He had some basic tactical knowledge given that he played the “Call of Duty” video game, he injured two officers, he nearly killed one of the highly trained SWAT members, and then he _also_ managed to put a bullet in a ballistic shield...quite some reflexes!

It’s about letting that child know you are doing everything you can to help
The difference between a child dying alone for 40 minutes in terror at the hands of evil abandoned by everyone good and the same child dying hearing his mommy or daddy’s voice attempting to save him is more than one can imagine It is, as a parent, certainly worth dying for
But the mother who did break in unarmed managed to get out with her 2 kids

Steve takes the flimsiest pretext to generalize an attack on the authorities, before all the facts are even known. In perfect 20/20 hindsight, anyone can do “better” in their imagination.

To which I can only add that these mass shooter events pop up like toadstools after a summer's rain, right on schedule, every time gun control is before congress.
The only real difference is this time, this time they, who don't give a flying crap about their own children, realized that AMERICANS do care about children, their own, mine, yours, born and unborn.
Their programed killer was sent out to target innocent children in what can only be described as a brutal, deliberate, terrorist attack to sway public opinion.
Sorta completely unlike the ones they call domestic terrorists not wanting their young children brainwashed into self loathing and mutilation....

It’s not always easy to manage to find someone willing to shoot their own grandmother in the face/head, though. They must be getting better at this.
