The Leftists running Biden think it unfair that USA is the only superpower. They are trying to arrange for a fatal degradation of American military might. Destroying a few American carrier groups is just a start for them.

Profoundly true.

To which I would add never have we had worse leadership.

#14. Rogozin didn't actually say that (link).

"To take one example, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said at a June 2013 academic conference that “an attack against a large, developed country using 3,500–4,000 units of high-precision weapons would almost completely destroy the country's infrastructure in only six hours, leaving it unable to fight back. Obviously, if Russia came under such an attack, its nuclear deterrence force would become the aggressor's main target. According to current United States estimates, 80 to 90 percent of Russia's nuclear potential could be destroyed in such an attack.”

The Russian media referred to Dmitry Rogozin’s predictions several times using headlines such as “Russia Would Lose a War With the U.S. in Six Hours.” Rogozin can therefore safely be considered one of the key authors of the concept of a disarming conventional strike—and, it would seem, one of the president's main advisors on the topic. "

This was in response to the U.S. Prompt Global Strike program, with the goal of delivering a precision airstrike anyone on the planet in a hour, meaning non nuclear, precision guided ICBMS, hyper sonic missiles, or orbital kinetic weapons. The U.S. doesn't have those weapons or in any significant numbers.

Given Putin's goal to recreate the USSR, he is giving the U.S. a big incentive here.

Sarcasm isn’t always as obvious as the writer intends.

Or maybe the reader is used to reading in Cyrillic.

It just amazes me that so many on here are cheering on Biden and his fellow globalists. They are making huge mistake.

Where did you hear our sats get blinded? Far from reality. SLBMs are you primary concern. They reach their targets in 12 minutes.

Irrelevant. Immediate blind retaliation is the heart of MAD.

Although I do understand that Russian-Soviet Communist plants in the US believe the will become czars of the ruins (see Mike and ‘Chis[tian] Wallace).

Oh yeah? I think you have been bluffing for around 50 years or so. I think your nuclear force is in worse shape than your armor invading Ukraine.

“I was around during the Cold War and the Cuban missile crisis, and the hostile rhetoric today raising the possibility of nuclear war is worse now than it was back then.”

I was, too; and it was pretty close to home for me because my Dad was a colonel in the USAFR, and a pilot.

I think the nuke talk back then was a LOT more pronounced and heated than today. It only seems more strident now because of the nature of mass communication today, which is an echo chamber and not indicative of the public in general.

Back in 1962 EVERYONE was talking about it: Neighbors on the street or across the backyard fence; teachers and kids in school; grocery clerks; gas station attendants (remember them?); pretty much everyone. I know a lot of my neighbors and run into them regularly while working in my yard or garage or shop, or walking the dog, etc. Nobody is talking about Russia and Ukraine; most everyone is bitching about inflation and government restrictions on one thing or another. And, of course, the weather.

What kind of “defeat” do you see that would threaten Russia’s “existence”? The Ukies aren’t marching on Moscow; they just want the Russians out of their country. Causing Putin to lose face and abandon his military adventure isn’t threatening Russia’s existence.

“ NATO is waging a war against us,”

Uh no, NATO has not even even started waging war against you. NATO is just providing intel and some armaments to your opponent. If NATO ( US) truly engaged, your forces in Ukraine would be wiped out in 48 hrs.

Then how does senile Biden and his incompetent crew respond?

Probably by nuking Florida. They would rather fight Americans.

“It just amazes me that so many on here are cheering on Biden and his fellow globalists.”

That’s a straw man fallacy.

I’ve been following these Russo-Ukraine War threads since February, and I don’t recall ANYONE saying they are “cheering on Biden and his fellow globalists.” There are people who want to provide Ukraine with arms and materiel so it can defend itself against the aggressor, but that is hardly “cheering on Biden and his fellow globalists.”

To broadbrush any and all who want to supply Ukraine as Bidenistas is a slander. There are others here who are pulling for Russia not because they are Putinistas, but because they believe Ukraine “asked for it;” there are others who are pulling for Russia to poke the West in the eye. That doesn’t necessarily mean they are Putinistas, because they’d likely cheer on ANYONE who pokes the West in the eye. Now, if they NAME Putin, that may be another matter.
