New study finds Vitamin D ‘safe and effective’ in preventing COVID-19

On a long seminar about vitamin D which I watched from a link here on Freerepublic, the presenters said that when your shadow is shorter than your height, you not getting vitamin D from sunshine because the sun’s rays are coming through too dense an atmosphere.

It would’ve been so easy for the CDC to suggest vitamin D supplements early in the pandemic, perhaps even provide free vitamin D supplements. They did not do this because, in my opinion, they wanted their control and the public’s fear, to last through the 2020 election.

Sorry, you pressed my button by seeming to refute a scientific study, albeit one that could have been more robust, based on your one subjective anecdotal data point. Which is far more unhelpful than any acronym.

And as far as counting on Vitamin D to help, it depends entirely on your definition of help. The only real, critical help that was needed is reducing severe illness which can overwhelm hospitals, and deaths.

Even a single percentage point of help in those areas would have meant hundreds of thousands fewer hospitalizations and tens of thousands fewer deaths. Anyone with any understanding of health and nutrition knows that a rational health education campaign would have made far more than a one percentage point difference.

Early in the epidemic, the American Dental Association posted guidance for respiratory illness prevention that included Vitamin D, Vitamin C and zinc. That guidance vanished as soon as Fauci and the vaccine shills started threatening everyone posting such “misinformation.”

One dimensional thinking runs rampant through society, with deadly consequences.

I don't refute scientific studies. But, the one in question is JUST ONE study, and limited at that.

Perhaps you know of other studies like the one above that proves the effectiveness of vitamin D? Or perhaps just another one with a larger sample of subjects?

There are far too many studies which people will jump on, because, they prove what you want to hear. For example, when it comes to global-warming/climate-change, democrats like to use ONLY the studies that prove their points, while ignoring every other study that proves otherwise.

Science is about proof, and proof is not just one study. Did I press more of your buttons?

Plenty of information showing that having adequate Vitamin D levels PRIOR to infection results in lower risk of infection and lower risk of severe or fatal outcome.

It’s not a therapy , it’s a prophylactic. Apparently it will remain a top secret one, and there’s not much I can do about that.

Nobody ever has anything good or useful to add, when the person hearing what you have to say has already made his mind up and won't listen to different opinions. Sort of like most liberals, who don't care what others have to say, because, they don't want to hear anything that disagrees with their way of thinking.

I’ve been taking vitamin D for many years, and I still contracted Covid-19.

Groups at higher risk for the wuhan coronavirus have more stored iron, so I think not having a lot of stored iron is the most important factor to not have an aggressive case.
