Gas chamber with nitrogen is the way. Cheap, 100% effective, and lights out. They don’t even get a “suffocating” sensation. That’s why it’s so deadly on a jobsite in a confined space.
Ever seen a deer head shot, and then it thrashes around for minutes from the nerve impulses?
If you are a hobby shooter, you would notice the lack of recoil from a blank.

No, the condemned person lies face down on the edge of a platform, with a locking brace over the neck, and a basket to catch the head underneath. I guess that other square basket is to roll the corpse into. Wouldn't want to stare down into a used basket, though. Nowadays they'd probably use a Rubbermaid tub that could be hosed out between chops.
As if people would line up to have a killer's organs. Bad juju.
No CO2, how about helium. Then at least we get the last laugh😁
I’d prefer the nitrogen gas method. Quick, painless, no guilt for the doers and minimal cleanup.
