Why is this news? This is a war—Fuel dumps are valid targets for both sides. Ukraine would have a right to sent a rocket to Moscow as the Russians have hit Kiev. It does put a damper on the “Brave Ukrainians defending their homes!” propaganda.
They'd previously only defended within their homeland.

I remember him. Took a small, private airplane from — was it Germany? — and flew to Moscow. During the Cold War!

Not just Moscow. He landed in Red Square. On May 28, which was Border Guards day in the Soviet Union.
I’ve read an account of all the dithering that went on between the border guards and their higher-ups about it. Some decided they would call the radar ping “a flock of birds” because another group of guards had called it “birds”, and they wanted to be in solidarity.
The guard who pointed out that the object was heading south, in May, and birds fly north in the Spring, was ignored.

Putin stormed into this war as if he was Stalin, but he’s looking more like Mussolini.
