I apologize for the many mistakes, as this was sent from my phone (which hates me), and my eyes are tired -
I pray daily that Jesus will call our heritic pope for a consultation. I had real concerns about a South American Jesuit, which were confirmed with Amoris, and his refusal to answer the Dubia.
I’m not far left. I’m not even left. I am also not a massive hypocrite.
I believe in the right to life. I also acknowledge the complex list of personal circumstances that lead to abortion.
To stop abortion, you can’t just ban it - it just goes underground. We had that in the UK. Backstreet abortions.
If you really want to treat the rights if the unborn child as utterly inviolate, across all fifty states, then the only logical approach is
1.Enshrine it in the Constitution.
2. Fund universal federal healthcare for ALL pregnant women. Take poverty out of it completely.
3. Actually start caring about what happens to those babies AFTER they’ve been born. A live birth isn’t “mission accomplished” with a severely disabled infant. If you want to prohibit the abortion of nonviable or severely disabled fetuses in the wombs of very low income women, put your hand in your wallet and pay for that child’s ongoing healthcare instead of expecting its family to bankrupt itself.
All of which is beside the point. Putin is neither pro life nor pro choice. If he wants to blow up a building full of pregnant women, he orders it. Doesn’t bother asking the mums or the unborn if they’d like to get out of the way first.
What nonsense.
He can easily win still, and rise from the ashes with the beast..
Ancient history especially from pre-UN daysis beside the point.
The first Iraq War was prosecuted correctly: consistent with UN Charter and principle of self-determination, Kuwait invited the world to intervene, the action had consensus, its chief objective was limited to pushing Saddam out of Kuwait NOT to deliver regime change.
Thirty years later, the West has lost that moral authority as it’s got bogged down in proxy wars and regime change. We also choose not to involve ourselves in Ethiopia, Eritrea, Yemen. We fund the Saudis.
The developing world says “if you can do it, so can we”. Putin thinks we’re all so much in Russian, Saudi and Chinese pockets he can now do what he likes.
Problem is, NATO still exists. Putin’s invasion plans include NATO countries. Trump eas prescient when castigating Germany and other NATO members for expecting America to prop it all up.
Without America in NATO, there would be nothing to hold Putin back from hitting the Baltic states and Poland OR using nukes.
#3 is exactly what Putin has said he wants. So it’s really up to their world to convince Ukraine to agree or face a prolonged siege as Russia slowly strangles the major cities and kills countless innocent folks.
Ukraine will have to suffer to get them accept #3. Right now, they’ve not suffered enough. Their morale is still high. The morale of the Russian Army isn’t high.
I’m no so sure morale is “high”. For all the media reports of Russian ineptitude they are slowly encircling the major cities and that’s when the real pain begins for the Ukrainians. The question is how much suffering will the leaders allow before conceding?
Cue the Putin fanboys! Defend your commie dictator!
Russia is notoriously known for their inept military performance especially in the beginning of the ears but once their war machine starts to roll, watch out. Their performance were terrible at the beginning of the wars but they ultimately prevailed. They won Napoleonic Wars, Chechen Wars and World War II.
Um, WW2 is N9T “ancient history”.
There are millions of people who are still alive who saw it.
And The League of Nations was founded long before WW2.
But then that never stopped your British General “Bomber Harris” from launching a massive bombing of mostly civilian targets in Dresden and slaughtering German civilians by the thousands did it?
So save me your crocodile tears over Ukraine.
Hey, give him time. His regime is only a few years old compared to his mother the USSR - they were in power for 70 years.
“Hey, give him time. His regime is only a few years old compared to his mother the USSR - they were in power for 70 years.”
Most of those 30 million were killed before WW2, which was 20 years after Stalin took power.
When did Putin take power? 21 years ago.
He'll get the old USSR cranked up in a little bit, then they'll be dispatching the bodies like gangbusters!
“He’ll get the old USSR cranked up in a little bit, then they’ll be dispatching the bodies like gangbusters!”
Got a link? Just kidding. Putin has been very clear as to what he thought about Stalin, and it’s not very positive. In fact, there are things he’s done in schools to make sure Communism never happens again there (at least for a while), and it’s far more than anything done here (since we’ve done nothing). So, no not happening...no mass gulags, not with Putin at least.
And you believe him? LOL
The founding principles of the UN were to prevent the recurrence of the events that led to the world wars BECAUSE OF the horrors of WW1 and 2.
I believe in Never Forget, but I can’t ignore the blowhard faux-patriots with unfeasibly short memories who are trying their damnedest to MAKE us forget.
The people who are most traducing the legacy of WW2, and most shamefully guilty of ignoring the lessons that should’ve been learned from it, are the armchair bandits who lap up QAnon crap in their utter desperation to find SOMETHING that proves the Democrats are worse than Putin’s Russia.
That mentality leads stupid people down stupid rabbit holes. Like this dumb ass.

Spent a small fortune pursuing a conspiracy, announced he’d found it to the world, and then finds out he could’ve read all about it for free months ago... nobody was hiding it at all, because it was a total non-story.
It’d have been more efficient if he had stuck to principles, Occam’s Razor, rational empiricism, and stayed away from tribalist drivel.
World war with nukes is a bad idea.
LEBENSRAUM is an evil policy.
People who deliberately start world wars and threaten to use nukes are probably insane.
Invading a free, sovereign neighbour as step 1 of a multi nation invasion plan that you keep advertising on your own propaganda network signposts the fact that you are deadly serious about committing all three.
And if you can’t keep your story straight on ANY point other than selling your Ein Reich wet dream to the folks back home, then you’re probably lying about everything you say yo the vontrary.
For those reasons, Putin so spectacularly ticks the boxes marked “The New Hitler” that any attempt to find an excuse not to see it almost makes one look like Neville Chamberlain. Short-sighted.
Actively going out of your way to paint Putin and the Kremlin propaganda mill as a straight up honest bunch of lads... Well, that’s more crazy than Lord Haw-Haw.
And just how did that work out?
We've had more nasty vicious wars after WW2 than we did before it.
I believe in Never Forget, but I can't ignore the blowhard faux-patriots with unfeasibly short memories who are trying their damnedest to MAKE us forget.
You mean the far left woke crowd, the Dementia Joe regime and the fake news media especially the British Daily Mail which is currently shattering all records on the number of lies and disinformation they make up per day?
You clueless British make me laugh.
The first thing you usually screech about is reach for Qanon who have nothing to do with this thread.
We don't need Qanon to prove the Dementia Joe regime is evil.
All we need to do is look at his dictatorial, illegitimate actions since seizing power after blatantly stealing the elections. Anything from throwing political prisoners into jail without trial, to using the IRS to terrorize his conservative opponents to using the DOJ to launch all out war on conservative and Trump voters etc etc is par for the course for Joe Dementia.
For a country lie Britain that spent centuries committing outrages on natives and in British colonies all over the world, you take a pretty high and mighty stance when other countries are at war.
You cant see the big lump in your eye but you can see the spec in someone's eye.
