Putin has said in his speeches that Russia is liberating eastern Ukraine region of Donbas, where 14000 have been killed by Nazi Ukrainian army, and going after perps who burned alive pro Russian separatists.
He has only those intentions and no more. It is really quite simple. Many many Ukrainians have welcomed Russia.
Some are using their govt issued weapons to kill nazis.
Ukraine has been a gang controlled Nazi thug country for some time, in the top 3 of world countries for corruption.
