“One thing we could do is give the Ukrainian military access to our spy satellite feeds. They could do some street to street damage on tanks and troop movements with the hand held anti tank weapons.”

Just hope Putin doesn’t find out, or Lockheed will have some new replacement contracts.

The Montreux Convention Regarding the Regime of the Straits is a 1936 agreement that gives Turkey control over the Bosporus and Dardanelles Straits and regulates the transit of naval warships. The Convention guarantees the free passage of civilian vessels in peacetime, and restricts the passage of naval ships not belonging to Black Sea states. The terms of the Convention have been a source of controversy over the years, most notably about the Soviet Union’s military access to the Mediterranean Sea.

Under Article 11, Black Sea states are permitted to transit capital ships of any tonnage through the straits, but Annex II specifically excludes aircraft carriers from the definition of capital ship.

The Soviet Union designated its Kiev-class and Kuznetsov-class ships as “aircraft-carrying cruisers” because these ships were armed with P-500 and P-700 cruise missiles, which also form the main armament of the Slava-class cruiser and the Kirov-class battlecruiser. The result was that the Soviet Navy could send its aircraft-carrying cruisers through the Straits in compliance with the Convention, but at the same time the Convention denied access to NATO aircraft carriers, which exceeded the 15,000 ton limit

“Am I expected to explain it every time to every idiot?”

I simply asked for your evidence.

FU you dirty Russian Troll. Glad to see those jet transport planes go down in flames with young Russian paratroopers.

“Sorry I won’t defend the ukraine government which helped the Biden and clinton family and assisted in the steal of trump’s election”

I’m with you on that, and I suspect many more here are too.

Ukraine is not a member of NATO. Turkey is. Article 5 comes in play if Turkey gets involved. If Russia attacks Turkey, Article 5 is activated.

Go ahead and support our Russian enemies, you are allowed.

I was under the impression that Hitlery, Biden and the DNC stole the elections. Didn’t see the Ukraine connection. I’ll be glad to look at that if you submit.

I will admit I am curious.

Did you look up a strela 10 and compare to the video?

if it is important, it seems a simple task.

then confirm if russia has any.

this outburst suggests he is likely right simply because you aren’t refuting anything he said.

videos are repurposed for propaganda effect. this has been a lesson in how to use modern information systems for disinformation on all sides.

Yep, I know that you are glad, except it is likely another hoax. Really, why don’t educate yourself? Regardless the position towards this issue it makes sense not to regurgitate over obvious hoaxes.

Agreed. However, Art. 5 has to come without a NATO country provoking the act.

Although Ukraine is not a NATO member, they are a sovereign nation that was illegally invaded. We don’t have to defend them, but we can assist them with weapons and economic restrictions on Russia.

Seems to me that if Turkey declares the straights closed to Russia, and then a Russian ship tries to pass through and is attacked, that wouldn’t activate Article 5, since it’s Turkey doing the attacking.

Wanna see how they enforce this. The Turkish navy has to be the equivalent, of, what, Disney World’s navy?

You are Russian. Of course you think it’s a hoax. You buy what Pooty Poot says or his propaganda ministry puts out there.

If the transport aircraft was a hoax, I’m sure you have evidence of that.

OK. I’ll take that at full face value.

Therefore Russia must seize Turkey to secure the Bosporus and Dardanelles.

Good luck with that Ivan!

A little late aren’t they? I believe the Russians have a major naval force already there.

“this outburst suggests he is likely right simply because you aren’t refuting anything he said.”

1. You are free to ignore the fact that in war, enemies will use other vehicles. Why in the hell would a Ukranian run over a Ukrainian civilian?

2. Do you realize that NorseFakeViking is an admitted Russian? You are free to believe he has no dog in the fight and even believe ANYTHING a Russian who trolls this board of ANYTHING, if you so desire.

Here is the video. The type of vehicle is obvious. It is as obvious that such a vehicle of Russian origin can’t realistically be in downtown Kiev.

The Bosporus and Dardanelles are not exactly the high seas and are quite narrow. In most circumstances they would be considered a part of the country. But with Ottoman Empire on losing side in World War 1 and given the strategic and commercial importance the straights they were viewed differently and subjected to international treaties

I have nothing but empty claims about aircraft. I know for sure that the Ukrainian propaganda tried to spin their own aircraft shot down as “Russian”. Why should anyone believe them without verification? Do you have anything to support their claim? Photo, video or what?
