We don’t have a labor shortage....we have a body of workers who don’t want to work....even when they’re working.
Just before retirement I was fast loosing my patience with the attitudes of those coming in I had to work with. So glad I’m out of it!
One man I spoke with the other day about the border said angrily...I Hope they open the whole da*mn thing up and let anyone come in because the people here have forgotten what it is to be grateful to have a job and willing to actual ‘work’ at it.

Will it hunt down those humans who are not working and force them to work in the lithium mines to power more overseer robots?

What a relief. Now all the illegal invaders can rest comfortably on the tax payer bill.

Just before retirement I was fast loosing losing my patience with the attitudes of those coming in I had to work with.Well, what do you expect from these self-entitled 19-year-olds, unwilling to work the fryer or to recognize the "au-thor-o-tey" of the assistant manager and his FIFTY years of experience?! But the fast food sector is rapidly automating, anyway. Fortunate that you got out while the going was good!
(Heh-heh! You set yourself up for that one, buddy!)

We don’t have a labor shortage
We have an excess of people not willing to work
We have an excess of people willing to live off of the labor of others.

Question: Does the US Labor Pool have enough STEM savvy workers to program, calibrate, install, and maintain, such complex machinery?
Answer: No. Take a close look at the status of the product of our post Covid K-16 education system. I seriously doubt if the have the skills to handle such new technology? That will delay its implementation.

Hey!
Our high scrule has the biggest weight room in the district.
That should count for something.
No shop class or home economics though.

That attitude among the young is everywhere not just in fast foods. Much of that attitude has to do with poor education along with the prevalence and acceptance of drugs.

I cannot remember if this was a Rudyard Kipling quote, perhaps a John Bull witticism but it went something like this:
The proudest day in an English man’s life is when on his deathbed he can honestly say he has no outstanding debt and that “I paid me own way”
