A lot of musicians are azzhats. I listen to some music that I choose to listen to, because I enjoy what i hear. I don’t listen to what I don’t want to hear. I just change the station, change the stream. Don’t care if any of them give an opinion, that’s not why i listen. And whenever one gives an opinion I disagree with, I raise a middle finger, and change the station.

Agree totally with what you say.If I stopped listening to every artist that had a different opinion than me, i would be in the hell of having to listen to Lee Greenwood sing I’m proud to be an American for the millionth time.
It’s not that Young said something I don’t like, it’s that he’s basically advocating for censorship.

well he’s got a few more people who will now listen to his music once again- big deal- he’s accomplished what he set out to doo doo- make himself somewhat ‘relevant’ again because folks were just losing interest in him for years-
Guess he had to make a stink to make himself 1/2 way noticeable again-
they protect their own, we know the dirt on most of them and are not at all surprised the hypocrisy behind it all is typical
Not sure that is true. The Spotify stats suggest that the vast majority of music being streamed on Spotify is >30 yrs old. So while Spotify's user demographics my be 'young-ish' the music that they are listening to belongs to their parents' generation (and sometimes grandparents).
