VDOT said they could not put down deicer because it started as rain and he deicer would have washed away.
It was nasty on the front range (CO) Wednesday night because the roads were wet all day and the snow was pa led down on the ice. Same Thursday AM. Snow was fine, the ice underneath and unseen was the issue.
Yes, that is BS. What do you suppose all of the other snow states do?
