If only it has been a white perp instead. The outcome wouldn’t have been pre-determined.
just fk Minnesota and every man, woman and child that lives there... yea I said it.
Dumb bastards.
TASERS SHOULD NEVER BE CARRIED OR USED
Ya gotta wonder how smart these Liberal Socialists are to vote themselves into these situations over six decades ...
When TASERS first came out they were built and looked very much like pistols-—the idea being they would be familiar to officers. That clearly was a bad idea since they then started letting officers carry one of each. Then the push came to colorize them and change the geometry so a blind man could tell which one he had hold of.
Then the issue of the dominant hand reared its head. Most people, being one-handed, went for the easy draw when things heated up. That hasn’t worked out since they all seem to put the TASER in a harder to reach place. The Potter chick makes the case that it ought to be the other way round.
I have long thot and advised that cops carry one or the other but NEVER both. And then Ms Potter testified that she kept her Glock locked in because she was 5-3 and was always afraid she might be over powered and have her pistol taken. She convicted herself by admitting she had to first unlock the Glock holster before drawing and firing-—not one but two fatal mistakes.
Seriously...
She was convicted of first and second degree manslaughter.
As I’m not an Attorney but why guilty on 2 counts for one manslaughter death?
You only die twice???
Your melatonin-deprived citizens may die ten or twenty deaths.
Another disgusting frailty of the colorless, humorless, welfareless, and big thighs and bunzless.
Curse of the man not the dingo.
That was my take as well...the vehicle is a deadly weapon and she was standing inside the open driver side door.
“Negligence and recklessness also qualifies one for a criminal act, not just intent.”
Not really. Watch the video. Particularly under Minnesota law, terms like negligence and recklessness are defined. If you shoot a gun into the air and someone dies, you are responsible because anyone can foresee doing what you KNOW you are doing could kill an innocent person.
Doing something by mistake is NOT “criminal” negligence. It may be negligence with liability under civil law, but it is not CRIMINAL negligence. Folks keep failing to make a distinction between something that can be punished with something that is a crime. Those are different things.
My hope is that it happen to the judge more than the jurors.
Your citation proves my point. David Wilson shot a cop and he was arrested, indicted, and prosecuted.
Only a jury saw through the police and prosecution narrative. Lucky guy, David Wilson. Were it up to the police he’d be in prison right now.
I believe that it portends much greater implications than he proffers.
Still, some FReepers should be ashamed.
She did make a tragic error.
