He’s insinuating that there’s no connection between the lab and the virus because there was some unknown and now eradicated animal connection between the bat and the virus.
These are not logical connections, but Fauci is trying to defer — bat — it away by the suggestion that there was some animal / market intermediary that we can no longer identify because the wet market was decontaminated. It’s like saying that the Lock Ness Monster exists precisely because we can’t find it.
He just admitted it came from the lab, and by extension that the intermediary is a genetic manipulation in the lab. And the only decontamination at play here are the computer drives that were “wiped” between the lab and Fauci.
Words matter, Fauci: it’s well past time to drop the “Saint” from your title.
