If not, the House has to replace Harris. The replacement then replaces Biden and the House has to replace the replacement.

More likely is that Biden has deteriorated to such a bad state that Harris will take over.

Guaranteed she knows the facts behind Biden's, shall we say, "mental lapses". All she needs to do is infer (read: threaten) to expose all, and she's safe until 2024. That is, unless her royal thigh-ness, Queen Hillary, is angling for the nod. Then Arkan-cide is on the table.

^^^ This. No way in hell Kamala resigns just because Dr Jill & Co. don’t like her. On the basis of Biden’s condition, KH is just about the likeliest VP in the last 100 years to assume the presidency on the basis of the Pres conk out. Why would she (or really politician) voluntarily step away from that?

I can see Biden quitting. That makes Harris the *choke* PUTUS automatically. Then they’d need to approve a veep.
But I would think Jillary might object strenuously to any measures that deprive Biden of a funeral of a sitting president, and that elevate Harris to the presidency.
OTOH, Jillary would need massive dirt on Harris to force her to quit.
Or maybe it’s all nonsense. It’s only 2021, and 3 years to go. Biden looks like he has an earlier use-by date, but there’s plenty of time unless someone just got a dreadful diagnosis...
Sure they could, by putting someone in who was halfway likeable so they could proceed to replace sleepy Joe. They know if they install Harris it will put 2024 beyond even cheating range.

Right. The conventional wisdom makes this all about Harris being removed and ignores Biden’s mental decline, which is being hid from the public. It may be far worse than we know.
That would be my guess, if there’s anything to it. His ship has already taken on so much water it’s more likely to sink than even hers.
With mass media support and a bit of trickery they could keep a dead Bidet president for years....
