Dad and brother were Marines, no longer with us.
It’s been almost 50 years since I made the leap from high school to the Marines. Man, have things changed.
Sadly, it appears to have been for the worse and the trend continues.
Where is the line drawn? We have Generals who are nothing more than SJWs these days, all the best have been flushed.
I understand he wants to do this to make a statement for ‘his people’ but it also makes a statement about our ability to let tradition and customs unique to the Corps be stripped away to satisfy needs of a few to make a statement, positive or otherwise.
Maybe it’s just me.. or maybe its all of us, sliding down that slippery slope into anonymity.
Doss? First of all, he was a doggie, not a Marine. And more importantly, he wore the uniform and served honorably. But if some Amish guy wanted to wear the funny beard and a pilgrim hat, then he sucks as a Marine.
Dressing up in foreign Sikh garb is a selfish prick move for someone who claims to be a Marine. What happens when a female decides she want’s to wear a headrag face cover in uniform?

Marines have a solid tradition. It isn’t a Sikh tradition incubator. And the Marine tradition is that everyone is a Marine Rifleman. Differences are suppressed and uniformity and teamwork are the good thing.

And he also refused to train with a military weapon which was a requirement in both the Army and Marines.....
Army or Marines, it doesn't really matter. They're both members of the US military so get off your high horse.....
